Reality 3d for DS opening unconnected.

I have been having intermittent problems with Reality 3D in DS 4.9 and now everything I seem to open causes an unconnected instance of the Reality - no items lights or camera? Should I de-install and re-install or is there something I'm missing? Any thoughts welcome.
