Unwanted Invisibility

Okay, what the hell is this? I just noticed that some of my scenes contain certain material that come up as completely voided silhouettes. I made thoroughly sure that this wasn't the happening of any visually toggled off nodes or the work of any zeroed out Opacity shading, but something's not right here...

uber Surface has a Fantom setting -make sure that isn't on.
Next question...what version of DS?
Looks like a variant of the LIE bug, to me.
It's the latest one, 4.5.1.56
And how do I do that?
It's in the Surfaces pane, a button. Though since it's in preview I do think that's unlikely to be the problem.
:Look under the Diffuse Color (the little box next to the color bar), Opacity Color, Bump, Displacement...any one that has one of those boxes...remove any maps on those items...also click on the Layered image Editor and make sure there are no layers.
That should be plain white/grey...then add the image maps, back, manually one at a time...starting with the diffuse.
Sorry I've been away from this topic for a bit.
Surprisingly, it seems as though updating my Studio to the latest version seemed to have corrected these issues automatically.
Did the 4.5.1.56 upgrade mention anything about shader layer correction?
