using GenX to enable direct morph injection into genesis character?

From my reading of various threads I gained the impression that it was possible to directly use the, say, M4 injection morphs on the genesis character if you used GenX to copy over the INJ Morphs++ M4.

So I started Genx, dragged the base M4 character to it, dragged the INJ Morphs++ to it, selected everything and transfer.

The morphs appear to have gone across. However they don't seem to work as I was expecting:

I restart Studio. I select genesis basic male, I set M4 morph to max, double click on (for example) JM_alexandre's head or body INJ but there is no change to the genesis figure at all.

What am I doing wrong? Are my basic assumptions that it is possible wrong?

First, I believe you need to process the poses through GenX if they use the standard morphs as otherwise the morph names will be wrong. Second, many character morphs do not use the standard morphs - especially for faces, where fitting clothes is not an issue - and those will need to be converted too.

Here is one way to do it.

Load up M4, inject Morphs++ and then inject the face you want.

After that Export your figure as a CR2 and load that up in GenX. (you may be able to just drag the loaded character into genx at this point, not sure).

Then in GenX you will have a few options, but you will likely want to export M4 as a single morph, and name it appropriately. You will also want to select the "Head" category instead of "Actor".

Now restart studio, load a NEW genesis figure and under head parameters you should see GenX. Under GenX all your head morphs should be there.

If you exported under actor then it would be Actor>GenX

    hope that helps

Thanks for the advice. I have successfully converted a head morph for M4.

I can sucessfully apply it to a 'clean' genesis character. The created morph appears in the shaping tab and acts as expected.

However, if I load a genesis character that I have already worked on, i.e. not 'clean', there are no entries in the shaping tab at all. Even after restarting studio - I am using studio 4.0.

Is this a limitation of the GenX transfer, that it will only work on 'clean' genesis characters, or do I need to do something extra?

If you want to get new morphs into a Genesis from an old scene, load the scene, select Genesis, and then load Genesis from the Content Library. That will zero the character -- then press Ctrl-Z (Undo) and your character will be back, but it will now have the new morphs.

Great! Thanks a lot for that info.

I was removing some of the old morphs I had previously created with GenX and also removed some other files under the GenX>Morph tab and now when I try to create morphs I get the following. What do I need to get back to where I can use it as before? I have tried reinstalling DAZ4 Pro, GenX, and every V4 file I think it might need.

I have a question. I want to transfer the KV mK 2 Injected genital morph (with it's accompanying morphs) to Genesis (not a whole character) using Gen X, which I just picked up last night. What are the exact steps I need to do in order to do this?
