Transparent background with Iray

AlfawulfAlfawulf Posts: 174

I've been having alot of fun doing Iray subjects with the proper light and placing them in photographic backgrounds right??

Well all of a sudden I add the light to a subject lying on the sofa and POOF!!

She's not in a transparent background??

What am I missing here?!?

Sounds like Draw Dome and/or Draw Floor is on, in Render Settings, under the Environment section.

Or you're not saving to a file that supports transparencies. Be sure to save eitgher as PNG or TIF.

I want to open this thread back up to add one more element for those who Google search this, do all those things, and it still doesn't work. Be sure you do NOT HAVE A BACKDROP in your Environment pane. It will say, "Type" and your choice is None or Backdrop. Backdrops are white unless you choose something else, so seeing a white background could just be that backdrop!  Hope this helps (LOL 3 years later!)
