Anyway to change Default mouse controls in the Viewport?

Hi I wondered if we can change Mouse controls to eg - left mouse button with alt key for rotation,

left mouse button with space bar, for panning

    F3, on the bottom under "Viewport Controls"

    Yes, it looks like you can change it but I couldnt get it to accept anything else.

    I didn't have any trouble changing the other keyboard commands.

    I'll have another go tonight in case I missed something obvious.

    Try using the Actions list on the left under Viewport Controls to change the keyboard shortcut.

    Thanks, all solved, I found I had to double click in the area next to the mouse control, then it erased the present short cut and let me put in another
