PostgreSQL CMS issue

I've poured through the forums, and haven't found the same error.  I've already double and triple checked to make sure my windows 10 was fully up to date, and all other drivers were updated as well. I even checked for monitor drivers because support insisted that it's a driver not updated.  My video card has an update that was released on 4/25/17.

I downloaded the installer, and used that to install DAZ.  I also installed the Default Reources, and PostgreSQL.  Tried to start up DAZ,- stuck in a loop for eternity  "Upgrading CMS".  Researched that,- and there were suggestions to open up ports in firewalls, change ports in the program, and so on.  Tried every single option I found so far,- still no bueno.

On a hunch, I started removed all the extra stuff that I had downloaded and installed using the install manager,- except for DAZ.  Low and behold, - it FINALLY loaded for me in about 2 seconds.  Then I got an error that PostgreSQL wasn't installed, blah blah... so I figured this is probably an important file.  Closed DAZ, and installed the PostgreSQL using the installer.  Started DAZ up, stuck in the eternal loop of upgrading CMS.  Tried deleting the whole thing, including the installer, and reinstalling from scratch.  Same thing.

I decided to try and check the log file.  When I have the PostgreSQL CMS thing installed, and start DAZ, that log file fills up with an error.  And it doesn't stop until I stop DAZ (Have to end the process).  I'm at a loss here.  I have no clue how to interpret the log:

This is just a snippet.  It literally repeats, to the point where the log file is 1,231,478 KB big.  The first log I couldn't even open because it was so large, and had to delete it and let the program generate a new one so I could get whatever error was in there.

Support is insisting the following:

If the Windows 10 update was done after your drivers updated last, it could result in issues like this. It also looks like a lot of files Daz Studio is attempting to read are missing. Did you manually install Daz Studio?

I updated to WIndows 10 when it first became available, which was what, a year or longer ago?  I've updated all my drivers and done all other updates since then.  As I mentioned earlier,- my videocard driver is from 4/25/17.  And, I've mentioned on several occasions I didn't do a manual install, at least not initially.  I've removed the whole thing and reinstalled it several times, one time which was a manual install.

Someone brighter than me,- any ideas?  This program looks amazing, and I'm at my wits end on how to get it to work :(  .

Thank you.

Did you, in your troubleshooting, attempt to run Daz Studio as administrator (right-click, Run as Administrator)? If so you may have permission issues that are preventing PostgreSQL from updating the database, hence the error loops.

  • Hi Richard!  Yes, I did try under administrator.  another suggestion was also to install the DIM under administrator too,- which I tried as well.

  • I have the same issue and I just installed Windows 10 a few days ago, and my drivers are all up to date.

Running as admin can in fact cause permission issues, so if you had doen that before it might be at the root of the problem.
