PC Membership: $30 dollars off- NOT?

So got an email saying the PC membership is $30 off

Doesn't work though. Still regular price.

Some people are getting the membership renewal for only 30 dollars too. Why not everyone?

Well just another reason not to trust PC club.

People get charged sometimes when they aren't a member, people get cancellation notices when they did pay, or have to concurrent memberships, or no subscription page, there is *STILL* no PC renewal in the store, there is no order or price confirmation on pay now for PC subscription pay....

Still no PC gallery. Still no gallery! Coupons instead of vouchers, what doesn't get used in one go is gone forever, and only works on Daz Originals.

Please Daz, if you *TRULY* cared about membership, and getting and retaining members, you'd try to make it QUALITY and not a half broken, half-patched and riddled with errors experience.

Fixing these should be the priority.

If you're concerned about traffic going out, maybe you should make what is here a bit better.

I really honestly don't get how these things are overlooked and ignored and pushed aside and allowed to continue as they are. Instead of some of the new "improvements" how about we fix the things that people have been wanting fixed for a long time??

its great you're having sales and trying to recruit more members I supposed, but I really wish Daz would fix the not-so-platinum club first. That may bring in more members than sales that don't work most of the time.

I got excited when I saw it too. I would really like to switch from monthly to annual at a reduced price, however this seems to be $30 off new memberships. Still a pretty good deal, just that I can't take advantage of it since I am already in the Platinum Club.

I sent in a request for the difference because it doesn't say in any of my two emails it's only for new members. existing members always saved $30 dollars renewing, so even though the site would charge us $99, support would give us the difference if we opened a ticket.

So I expect they will do the same in this situation.

Let me know if this works for you, since I've done the same thing. I have to admit I'm expecting they're saying that we misunderstood things or something.

But seriously THIS is the kind of problem with the PC club or Daz store in general. When sales often don't work correctly, and ads promise $30 off and don't give it... and the only way to get it is to spend extra, and beg for the difference back... how is that a good sales practice?

Daz really needs to fix the basics. :(

I agree with you 100%. Furthermore, it concerns me that new stuff continues to be released... like the new DIM. Every time something new comes out, we have to work through its bugs, Older problems, like the ones you cited, just move back in the list of priorities!

Why can issues be well and truly resolved before leaping ahead to the next "new gizmo"? :(

The Platinum Club promotion page (http://www.daz3d.com/products/platinum-club) shows the annual membership price as $99.95, while the actual product page (http://www.daz3d.com/platinum-club-annual-membership/) shows the price as $69.95,, at least as of a couple of minutes ago. Is it worth it? Well, the $72 in monthly coupons ($6 x 12 mos., for the math-challenged) already puts you a few bucks ahead if you pay the discounted rate, but they're one-time-use-only coupons and finding something you want that you can apply the coupon to and still get full value out of it can be a real pain in the butt at times -- after DAZ switched over from the vouchers to the coupons, I lost more value on them than I got in savings, but your experience may differ. So, unless you're buying lots of $1.99 items, I'd have to say "No, the PC Club isn't worth it". It usually gets you additional discounts on sales and promotions, but most people keep saying how broke they are or how much they've cut back on their spending, so I'd say most people probably can't afford to use it to full advantage, anyways. You do get access to the PC member forum -- which is nice -- but I can't tell you that it was worth paying for. Personally, until there are some major fixes made here at DAZ, they're not getting another dime out of me.

hear hear! Value for PC has gone down. You can't even get a renewal in the store. You have to pay the full darn price of a brand new renewal and then ask for a partial refund. I don't know any store that would let that fly. I can't believe Daz isn't fixing the basics. Just keep building on top of a broken structure ...and it'll fall over eventually.

And then we have this flimsy marketing schemes that promise $30 off membership... but apparently not renewals. Last i knew, renewals were also membership!!!! it's just another laugh at our expense it feels like. The welcome at Daz is gone, for the members as well as the non PA members.

Well I'm not really shopping much here anymore because i'm just plain fed up with Daz these days. I'm not planning to renew membership but going to get the most out of while it lasts on those PC items.

As for the PAs....I feel bad for them. But it's Daz making the bad decisions here that affect everyone negatively.

Well, basically what DAZ is offering at the moment IS the annual renewal price. The initial cost of a PC membership has always been $99.99 (at least for the last several years, as I recall), and when it was time to renew, you could do so at the discounted price of $69.99 -- now, for a limited time, they're offering the renewal price to everyone at start-up. It USED to be a good deal -- maybe even a great deal -- but not so much anymore. DAZ seems more interested in attracting new PC members than it is in fixing the issues that's driving the old PC members away (which will likely drive the new PC members away once they become sufficiently ticked off by them) -- this strategy only works as long as DAZ can keep dredging up new PC members to replace the ones it loses, which sounds like a race to the bottom to me.

Well renewal is cheaper than signing up, far as i know always was. And that they don't say that the 30 off is for ALL membership, but secretly seem to only mean NEW membership.... yeah to me that shows that they don't care about old members, just new ones.

It looks like they're remaking Daz in the image of other stores. It isn't progress, that's for sure.

the idea behind about it, keep people dumb and dumber.
I have a very big problem, with info that is still keep hidden to all dazstudio users and only is been made available to a restricted PA vendors about how dazstudio tools really works and they can create content.
Why is this info not given to all daz users, so that everybody can create content if they like?

Oh, hey, man -- how's it going? Been a while since you've put up a new video on YouTube. To anyone who hasn't seen them, they're awesome -- go watch them now. My personal favorites are "DAZ 3D BonesPro for Dazstudio 4 - Genesis V5 & M5 Skinning Requests " (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBhV21E_9D4) and " DAZ3D DAZSTUDIO 5 GENESIS ANIMATE (What V4 always would Be) REQ: " (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IGvpdACiCCA).

Well, if the offer was to mean anything, it would also offer $30 off the renewal cost to current PC Club members -- and that it doesn't, tells me that I'm right in that DAZ is focused more on REPLACING its PC members rather than on RETAINING them. Who knows -- the new members might complain less than the current members, since they'll likely have less experience with DAZ to complain about. :)

When you put the PC annual Membership in your cart; did you actually go to your cart to see if the $30 had been discounted? Unless you actually click on the 'Go to Shopping Cart' link; you won't see the discount.

I didn't put it in my cart, since I had no intention of actually purchasing it. The price on the PC Club annual subscription page is $69.95 (for the moment, anyways), so I would assume that that would be the price at check-out -- whether it really IS or not is an entirely different matter, but someone else will have to be the one to tell you that.

Good question. Even people who've never been PC members have receoved this offer, but that may have been an error of course.
