Packaging for sharing?

I've made a couple of props in Hexagon and textured them in D/S. I'd like to be able to share them as freebies here and elsewhere. How do I package them up for both D/S and Poser, so that all the necessary files are included in the .ZIP?

So far, I have:

a) made the .OBJ files, the accompanying .MTL files in Hexagon.
b) made texture map .JPG files
c) made bump map .JPG files
d) opened them in D/S and and dialed in the surface effects.
e) saved them as Prop Assets, and found the .DUF files generated.
f) got them to show up in Smart Content in the right category.

So, what files are "must include", and how do I find where D/S stored them, and then save out versions that can be used in older versions and Poser?

Thanks,

Lex

The textures will be in the folder you applied them from - to make the file portable that should be inside a content directory, ideally in \Runtime\Textures\somefolder. The geometry and set up will be in the data folder, in Author\Product where Author and product are the values you placed in the options dialogue when creating the asset.

I found those, as .DUF files. However, I understand those only work with the latest versions of D/S. How do I generate files for Poser users or earlier generation Daz users? For example, how do I export a .pp2 or .dsa?

You can generate a .pp2 with this script: http://forumarchive.daz3d.com/viewtopic.php?t=127437&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

    Mine still works in DS4.5.

If you do that, you will need to include the pp2 file and the geometry files it references. For Poser materials I'm not sure what you would do without just making them in Poser.

Thanks SickleYield! That script worked great. I intend to post the zipped prop at Share CG, if anyone wants to let me know if it works.
