What IS Iray VERBOSE? It's killing my renders!

Recently I began seeing these messages when I go to render:

Iray VERBOSE - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.8 IRAY rend progr: CPU: Processing scene...

Iray VERBOSE - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.7 IRAY rend progr: CUDA device 0 (GeForce GTX TITAN X): Processing scene...

Iray VERBOSE - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): 1.6 IRAY rend stat : Geometry memory consumption: 3.28598 GiB (device 0), 0 B (host)

I have NO idea what they mean and I'm sure I haven't seen them before, but suddenly simple renders are taking FOREER.. IF they even decide to render what's in the scene AT ALL! All I get is the background and nothing else, after 10 or more minutes of waiting. It is a VERY simple scene. I have an NVIDIA TITAN X card and more than enough memory and other great computer stats to handle anything I throw into DAZ. So how did this happen? I didn't change ANYTHING in my rendering settings! ~_~ I even tried deleting the light set I was using, replacing it and switching to dome only....

iray Verbose is a setting mode where the iRay renderer is telling you details about what is going on at each stage of the render; it is not the reason why your renders are taking longer but can often tell you why such as that 3.3 gb geometry consumption...

Verbose just means it's telling you certain things that are already being printed into the log anyways. I am not sure how lines of text could tax a gpu so much that it would slow down a render.

It may be simple scene but something in there haves ridiculous amounts of geometry or behaves like it haves (lots of subd levels and/or displacement subd levels). Recently I coudnt render a simple scene (2 G3F, some primitives for walls and some furniture) because texture memory consumption was over 12 GB. As it turns out 2 bookshelves with around 10 books each consumed 10 GB of memory.

I learned from another PA that you should remove all un-needed content from the scene as Iray will still load up textures and meshes that are not visable to the camera.

3GB of geometry data is a lot.  My Amenazador Version 2 only uses 30MB of vram and its over 400,000 polygons.  With textures its 45MB total
