Howdy, I hope this has not been covered i didn't find it. I have some daz3d content that I have received through other means, 3d art magazine for example provided m5 and v5 on their cover cd. Since I did not purchase them through daz can the manager install them ? and if so how? I have a lot of items like this.

Hi, I'm not sure you can simply because there's a file that accompanies each of the zip installers, and there's another file within each installer, and both are needed for DIM to first recognize the installer to download it (although I assume you've already got the file on your hard drive), and also recognize and show that you've installed it with DIM. I think the file within the installer is the one that let's DIM know you have a specific product installed through DIM, and can then indicate when that particular product has an update for you to download.
Items we get through magazine CDs and other 3D stores won't have these files to help DIM keep track of your products for you.
Now if you, as I've done in the past, obtained software such as an older version of Carrara or Bryce or even DAZ Studio through a magazine's CD, I believe there's a way to get the appropriate serial number to register it, and then when you want to, you can then purchase an upgrade through the DAZ store, though as far as I know, DIM is not yet setup to download software and plugin purchases, though probably will be at some point in the future.
You will need to contact Support (Help > Contact Us), and see what they can do for you. You would aldo need proof of purchase of any magazines as far as I know.
Unless these items are in your Itemised Order History, the DIM will not be able to use them.
I looked in the magazine for any codes and could not locate any. I called daz support and they said someone would email me back in a few days. Nothing huge and if I understand correctly I can always manually install a product it may not show in the update list but studio should recognize it just fine.
