Picture size.

How do I increase the resolution to something closer to 1080p? The current resolution is too small.

If you are talking render size, you can change the pixel dimensions under the Render tab.  You may need to unlock a setting or two to allow you to change the aspect ratio.  There are two sets of numbers. The first set controls pixel size, and is in turn controled by the aspect ratio of the next line below.  So say if you have 800 height and 1000 width in the first set of numbers, the next entries below could be 8 and 10, 80 and 100, 400 and 500, you get the idea here.  If you change either of the first numbers, the other will 'scale' to match the ratio.

As for how to set for 1920 x 1080, the fastest way is to set the aspect ratio to 1920 width  and 1080 height (that way you don't have to do math), then set the height in the entry above to 1080, which should flip the width over to 1920 if it's not there already.

Note that the viewport will resize the 'yellow frame' to match your render aspect ratio, with anything outside of the yellow framed box not being included in the render image itself.

Keep in mind that you may want to render at double these dimensions in your final render, then reduce the render image size in photoshop or whatever to your final resolution.  This helps sharpen the quality a tiny bit in the final image, at least for Iray.  I haven't messed with 3Delight, but I imagine it'd help there too.

Is this what you were curious about?

    That did the trick. Thanks.
