I am exploring using instances for use in animations. Is this feasible? Has anyone actually done it? Sugestions for which instancing csoultion works best for what?

I want to create a scene with a mansion that morphs into deterioration. Can anyone suggest content that will allow mwe to do that?
The search function for the content library is not working. I can browse and load content but can not search the content?
I was storing all of my conent on an external disc to save space. I recently enlarged my native hard disc. I would like to reload all of my content to the new disc. How would I do this?
I am trying to use the instrall manager. I seem to be stuck iin a loop tha won't let me download or use the manager. I am attaching a screen shot of the loop? How can I get out of the loop?
Close DIM, download the current version from Daz, and install - settings won't be affected.
For the move, DS will not care as long as the new locations are set as content directories but DIM wills till be pointing (via the .dsx fiels in the manifests folder) to the old location. You can either uninstall and reinstall or you can use a text editor to edit the .dsx files (making a back up fuirst, of course).
The default search behaviour in the Content Library pane uses the database - you can switch to a filename based search by clicking the icon to the right of the search text field.
Insances can be created within DS - Create>New Node Instance or Instances - so you need additonal tools only if you want the features like scattering to controlling placement. Instances should work for animation - an instance copies the surfaces, bone poses, and morphs of the source but can be moved around the scene and scaled separately.
When I open Daz I get this prompt. How do I fix this?
Is PostgreSQL installed? If so, what security software are you running? Have you ever run Daz Studio with elevated privileges, which can cause problems?
I don't know if PostgreSQL is installed. I don't remember installing it myself. How would I find out?

I recently prurchased some new content. I selected to download and install but it has not shown up in Daz. What coud be the problem?
- Which version of DAZ Studio are you running?
- What version of Mac OS X are you running?
- Have you upgraded Mac OS X to a major upgrade after installing DIM ?
- And the last one, are you installing (running DIM) from an account with admin rights (can sudo in geekspeak)?
I have all admin rights on this cmputer.
4.9.0.63 - that means no Valentina DB, only postres support.
if you look in ~/Library/Application Support/DAZ 3D (~= your home directory), do you have a folder named cms there?
What does it contain?
Then you have a postres installation, next task, figure out why it doesnt work
In ContentCluster you gave a file, 'dblog.txt', is there anything in it? Can you post the last 20 lines here?
