Has anyone ever noticed that the only time the world beats a path to your door is when you're in the bathroom.

Stepping into the bathtub will make the phone ring. So will taking an afternoon nap.

cracking a book tends to do it for me, as I'm very susceptible to motion sickness in vehicles and I can't read on them.
(don't have problems with computer games though)

Grump... current Bryce Render is in for the long haul... and its windows update night (scheduled for 12am my time) I do not want this thing going all night and get dumped when the system reboots. (not if, when.. I'm doing a render the computer will have to reboot if I let it go all night)..

Opening a can of soft drink always makes a bus arrive :)

...well the day was actually rather benign. No summons to the office, no drama. Not sure what happened after I left yesterday, but a number of people were actually very pleasant to me to day. I think quite possibly my supervisor had a bit of a talk with the owner and in a sense, went to bat for me.

Still as a bit sore this morning so didn't pack much of lunch (just a pack of soda crackers) and sipped on herbal tea all day. Feeling better tonight (made a light dinner that didn't cause any ill effects afterwards) so I think I'm over the worst. Don't want to go through that again.

Still rather tired (partly from not eating very much the last couple days and partly from the stress of yesterday). Probably going to turn in a bit early again.

-----

Stormy weather on the way for Friday, big wind and rain in the forecast. More snow in the Mountains which is actually a good thing as a thick snowpack means no water restrictions in summer.

Big blizzard churning through the plains and Midwest. Dropped a rare snowfall in Arizona.

Winter isn't through with us yet.

I have Windows Updates set to ask me. I hate it when updates install and the system reboots all by itself. I never let it do that. I like to be in control of when my computer reboots.

We're expecting more snow this weekend. It will start on Saturday night and go into Sunday. Our area is expected to get 4 to 8 inches, less if the storm tracks further north, more if it tracks further south. It seems every weekend we're getting more snow.

Odd...usually Windows updates come on Tuesday nights. Except when there's a special one. I haven't gotten any this week yet.

Oooh now this is real cool: http://www.daz3d.com/modular-ruins/

Heh, I saw a video series on Digital Tutors about designing modular environments for games. It's one of those things I keep putting off for later, but really want to do. Since I love puitting things together and mixing and matching, modular stuff (Like legos? :P ) is a big favorite of mine. ^_^

*edit* of course it would be cooler if I could actually purchase it :P
"The maximum quantity allowed for purchase is 1." <---- Clicked purchase while I wasn't logged in (apparently...) and so I log in, and my cart is empty. Fine, whatever - I click purchase again and it gives me that message. However, my cart is still "empty".

*edit 2* Cleared browser cache and restarted FF and it still gives me that message. Logging out/in does nothing, Opera gives me the same message too, so is not just FireFox. V_V

*Gasps!* I log out and can add it to meh cart finally XD
Checkout, log back in because I have to, and I have like 6 of them in my cart o_O
Ahh well. Edits it back to only one, checked out, and now I have my ruins so all is well =P

Though I have no idea why it tells me "You will be sent a link to track your product"
Srsly? This is digital download-only stuff we're talking about here, not a physical product being shipped through the UPS ^_^;

No, it's not you, it's this wonderful, stable, new store software...9 months in!

When that happens, after you log in, add something else to the cart...anything, it doesn't matter. Then you'll see 2 items, open the cart and delete the other thing that you added.

A lot of trouble? Yes. Will they fix that? Well, it's been happening for months, so your guess is as good as mine...maybe better, because my guess is that they can't fix it.

Easy Fix for that issue. Log in add a different item to cart Open cart and Both should now show. Remove the extra item and then checkout.

Lovely, I just broke my Xbox ><

All right... So just a few minutes ago I fired up my xbox to play some Halo, and my headset decided it didn't want to work. The audio insisted on coming out of the tv's speakers instead of through my headset, and nothing I did (even restarting the xbox) would do anything. I turned the tv around to unplug and plug back in the audio things in the back but that did nothing either.

So what does this have to do with the journal's title? So far everything's working except my headset. Well, as I was giving up I accidentally pulled the tv off the dresser I had it sitting on when my headset's cord got wrapped around the thing (Without me knowing). The TV was fine, but I noticed no video was coming out of it but audio was. Looking at the back, the yellow video plug was broken. the little stick part that goes into the port was jammed into it and there wasn't any way to get it out.

So... I might not be able to use my xbox right now. The TV does have the oddly colored "HDMI" ports, so I might be able to use those instead... *sighs* So much going wrong for me right now. My headset sometimes just randomly doesn't work (I can hear other people but they can't hear me, or I can't hear them but can hear the game, and sometimes it just doesn't want any audio to come through at all.)

It seems when I use my headset with my laptop or PSP for a few hours then plug it into my xbox crap just goes wrong. =/

*edit 15 minutes or so later: Okay so I can still use my xbox. I changed the TV from "Video" to "Component" and used the R/B/G cords and I've got my video back. As for the headset not letting the audio in? Welll.... Sometimes I really really hate myself. Turns out my headset's volume slider was set to 0% Game / 100% Voice so only voice audio would come through, and the game's audio would only come through the TV's speakers (I usually had stuff on my headset very low and the voice audio very high because my headset was picking stuff from the game up too. Turns out doing even that didn't help XD )

What techs call a solid probe, a pointy bit of steel and some long nose electronics pliers should get the jack out of its plug. Unplug the TV mains power first heh :)

Them that Wont never will.
Them that Don't never do.
Them that Might ever wonder.
Them that Try can, will, do and wonder what to try next.
