I'm retired but it still holds true. Monday must be cursed. :ahhh:

Monday was pretty crappy, now you mention it  Tuesday is OK so far.

Finnish is hard! How do people think in two languages? I can barely manage one. :)

Let's just say that I do not envy anyone who needs to develop translation for * -> Finnish -> * for Google. It... well... it is like trying to cram a greased live snake into the barrel of a blunderbuss.

And well... I speak four languages, although two of 'em very poorly. ;)

(Fun factoid, I know that guy in a swing in a roundabout way. Friend of a friend.)

And it's really embarrassing when you can't remember words in your native language...

Gods I know this pain oh so very well.

Bleh, Monday. Complaint: dark and overcast and kind of semi-muggy. Further complaint: some chili I had this weekend is having it's revenge on me and I feel as iffy as you might imagine! :-/

I have reservations now for 2 weeks to start at a Value Inn not too far from work, though! :) I check in on the 28th., so now I have a place to go. It's near the bus and the commute is about the same distance as it is now. It's kind of out away from things, though, so I'll likely be going out less and mainly on weekends. This should help me focus on writing and art! :cheese: I'll just extend my stay until I find a more permanent location. Room is a studio, small fridge and stove, bed, TV, computer desk - comes with weekly maid service and Internet. $290/week plus tax, which is pretty affordable.

Sold my 23in monitor this weekend, tonight and tomorrow the rest of my goodies go up for sale. I have a few things to mail out Saturday, then a Goodwill run to dump anything left, then I'm done - ready to travel and portable!

wishings for a balmy veranda with a serene view and a clicky keyboard.
it's strange, isn't it, looking out a window to a cold snowy world doesn't put me in the mood to write. it just makes me dream of balmier places where my joints wouldn't ache so much.

It is. In my business I need to be able to move quickly to go where the work is - I can't rely on being able to collect a bunch of stuff and stay in one place. I might end up in Florida or Michigan! :bug:

The more stuff goes out, the better I feel! :)

    mondays iz official bubblebath day

    in the fridge is chillin
    a bowl
    of shortbread cookie dough
    ready to roll
out, cept i haz no cookie cutters, doh

for a late lunch, fettuccine noodles with olive oil and parmesan and romano sprinkles.
    not exactly an ideal
    with beer meal.

the bavarian pretzel recipe takes 4 cups of flour.
maybe i should leave the chillin cookie dough for tomorrow and bake the pretzels today so i have something to go with the beer? ... priorities :)

You can always use a cup or the like, as long as you don't insist on scalloped or pinked edges.

And I'm a little puzzled how the Eddas come into a discussion of Finnish - wouldn't that need the Kalevala?

Okay this isn't a webcomic or anything, just a single image that happens to span several "panels", but just to be on the safe side I'm only linking it: http://catbeast17.deviantart.com/art/Tools-of-Trade-322759479

I found this to be really funny :P

    "Like the old saying goes,
"It doesn't matter what tools you use, just how you use them." :)

Just a short comic I came up with the other day, depicting two traditional artists: One that uses high quality stuff, the other, not so much XD"

    1) So... You're a traditional artist too?
    2) Yes.
    2) I use premium recycled paper, prismacolor premier colored pencils, copic markers, pen and ink, and faber castell watercolors. [Shows a detailed drawing on a paper]
    1) Oooh Impressive!
    1) I use computer paper! And crayola colored pencils and markers! And Office Depot pencils! And assorted pens! (And whatever else I find around my house.) [Shows a doodle on a piece of paper]

    Ahhh enthusiasm =)

A few houses burned no casualties I think. Bacchus? Don't know maybe :)
