Unable To Install Certain Products

Hi! I really need a little help. Up until a few months ago, I was running DAZ Studio on Windows XP 32 bit, without any problems. Unfortunately, my computer died and I was unable to salvage very much. I purchased a new computer, running Windows 7 64 bit, and downloaded DAZ Studio again. Yesterday, I used the new install manager to download and install my products. However, the install manager didn't seem to recognise (some didn't show up in the managers list of downloadable products at all) all my products and only downloaded and installed some. I tried downloading and installing the products the normal way, but kept getting the error message that the product didn't install correctly and to re install using recommended settings. I did this, and still the products have not shown up in my content library. Also, I have discovered that some of the products I purchased a year ago are now in zip format, and I can't figure out how to install them properly. Could somebody please help? I would be very grateful.

First of all, the DAZ Install Manager (DIM), had been available for about a week now, and not everything has been converted to work with it. All of Genesis and V4 are done as far as I know, but earlier stuff is still being worked on. The DIM uses ZIP files, which have a Content folder inside them. DIM knows how to install these, but they can be a slight problem for other users.

The folder called Content (DS3), was the default name for the folder now known as My Library (DS4), so you need to treat it as that. In other words, put everything that is in the 'Content' folder into the 'My Library' folder OR if you have used the new DIM install location 'My DAZ 3D Library' Since you are using Win 7, any folders with the same names will merge. So, just drop everything that is in the Content folder into the My Library folder (or whatever folder you use).

Check which applications you are filtering for in the Install Manager, and check the install location it is pointed to. Remember that in Windows 7 you should not place content in the application folder - DS will default to My Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Library; the DIM, however, defaults to using the Public Documents folder. Some older content is not yet available to the Install Manager, and non-content products (plugins, shaders etc.) are not currently supported at all.
