PowerPose "Reset Pose" button gone in 4.9.4, I want it back please!

I use this button quite often it's really convenient, and now it disappears. There's huge space on that panel, why remove a small button?

the change log says

The "Reset Pose" button has been removed; use actions in the pane's option menu and/or action accelerators (keyboard shortcuts)

So open the menu needs several extra clicks, keyboard shortcuts sounds nice, but I can't find the reset pose option under the F3 custimize menu. Any suggestions? Thanks.

By default ctrl-shift-F (cmd-shift-F for a Mac) will restore a figure to its memorised state.

  • Hi Richard, Thanks you for the help. But that shortcut also removes all the morphs applied to the figure, and it takes a long time (several minutes on a g3f character). I just want to quickly zero my character back to T pose after I pose her manually or applied a pose preset, just like the reset pose button does.

Remember that there's Reset Pose, Reset Shape, Zero Figure, Zero Figure Pose, Zero Figure Shape and so on. They each restore a different level of changes. I won't go into the differences here as you can look these up in the documentation and experiment, but I gfind Alt-Z, Zero Figure Pose, to be sufficient for returning a character to its T-pose.

Not all of these have a built-in keyboard shortcut, but those are easily added. Look under Edit, Figure, and then Memorize, Resore, or Zero.

  • Thank you Tobor. Tried Alt-Z but nothing happens. Googled the daz online documents as you suggested and finds out that there's no shortcut for Zero Figure Pose.

Use the Restore Figure Pose action

I agree why take functianality away. Bring it back unless it is faulty.

The pane is currently being worked on and redesigned - it's possible that the feature, or an improved version of the feature, will appear in a later development.

I use Shift-CTRL-Z (Zero Figure Pose) to reset to T-Pose without zero morphs but I don't use Power Pose so I don't know if that requires anything different.

Thanks marble. I think this is an undo action similar to Alt-Z, if I open a scence with a pre posed figure and want to zero it back to T pose, these shortcut do nothing since there's no previous action for it to undo.

thanks for the tip, If I understand correct, this toobar shortcut is for zero pose scripts provided with some pose packs, seems like the scripts are generation specific. The reset pose button can reset all figure including v4 as I rember. Therefore currently there's no substitute for that button except for " Zero Figure Pose action"  menu item. So I suggest DAZ to restore the button or provide a keyborad shortcut to this action in the future, hopefuly. wink

No, Rero zeroes  -sets the parameters it affects (pose, shape, or everything) to 0 (or 100% for scale). Restore does rely on the memorised state - loading a character preset, for example, the preset will become the memorised state.

The actual zero/restore commands are generic - just relying on the property type. Other poses or scripts may be specific to a specific item.

remember, you can added combine of "KEY" "Ctrl/Alt/Shift"  to accelerate some actions via "Keyboard"

once you define your choices, remember to 'save' your 'layout'

Thanks guys. cm152335 you saved my day ! In "parameters" group threre is the " Zero Figure Pose", it just lies there quietly, not willing to grab my attention. but I found it at the first glance and assigned a keyborad shortcut to it immediately, haha.  I didn't find it before because I only seach for it in PowerPose and Pose group, didn't expect it hiding in Parameters.  Thank you again, appreciate the help.
