So I am seeing this topic pop up, seemingly randomly in other topics. I'll see a little bit of info here in this thread and a little bit more in THAT thread... which frankly, is getting to be confusing!
So I'm going to just start a new thread and hope that I can get my answer.
I have a fairly extensive library of Genesis 3 figures... I'm talking a LOT and I would like to know if I can transfer them onto the G8F figure. I know that there is a clone took that is built in, which is great, but lets say I wanted to turn Georgia or Sophia into a Genesis 8 figure.
How would I do that?

I'd love to know that too, getting sick of getting the same stuff re-sold for full price every new generation.
So far I only saw that you can easily autofit clothing and add textures, but no morphs and all the shape options are gone too of course
Third. Very limited budget, can't take another whole new generation library.
There exists a method for transferring morphs using the clones, though I'm not sure how the difference in base pose will affect it. (I haven't been able to download G8F yet, so I'm unable to test. I think the pose difference will cause trouble.)
Though daz enhance clone asset ,which seems include pose value, it not work well for transfer morphs. (seems good about clothing)
I make, G8clone which include new Tpose for G3, then save as morph(type clone) as MYcloneG3F (Old way I have used)
it work without problem . Actually G3F and G8F have almost same mesh without zero pose. if you make G8 clone (save as morph but type clone) shape, which include posed shape for G3F, it should work, with reverse option.
about character MCM JCM, we still have no way to auto-transfer with ERC. then simply use G8F base JCM, and new Eye lash can not transfer well about these big defomation.
(I try to transfer Mika eyelash morphs to g8 eyelash , can not work well,, maybe separate eye lash from G3F then save new figure, and try transfer individually work better, but not try yet.)
Then Do yours really think we prefer use G3Character on G8 than original G3character? find some cool future for G8F ?
At current I have almost no clear merit about G8 figures. just test around quriosity rigging or surface, but I can not say, I use G8 with clear merit.
Im having some success using the transfer utility using the workflow described here for genesis to genesis 2 . The morphs I have tried so far from genesis3 seem to work ok for genesis8. (Ok I have edited the tutorial linked above to reflect the workflow I have used succesfuly so far,}
This tutorial assumes you have a morph you want to transfer from Daz Genesis3 female shaping parameters or custom morphs to Genesis 8 female.
1. Open Daz Studio 4.9, load Genesis3 female, in parameters set the resolution level from high definition to base and subdivision level to 0 then find the morphs you want to transfer and add to favorites (click thr little heart on the top right of the morph dial)
2. Load Genesis 8 female and start the transfer utility.
Source figure - Genesis3 female
Shape - Default
Target - Genesis 8 female
Shape - Clone>Genesis3 female
Projection Options
Change Use near vertices to 1000%
Uncheck all except for morph targets
In morph targets > extended options use From source - Favourites , uncheck projection templates + overide existing and below uncheck Fit to Source Figure and Smoothing
Click Accept
You can now delete Genesis3 female leaving Genesis 8 female in place. Your morph will have transferred. If you cant find it, open Property Hierarchy and search for the name of your morph, Right click on it and click show in parameters
Your Genesis morph should show up, in this case under morphs>morph loader.
Dial up your morph.
Your morphed Daz Genesis character should now look the same on Genesis 8 female , there may be some anomolies but most seem to work OK.
It worked once... and I was thrilled. I tried to duplicate it... and it no longer works. Does this technique only work with certain models?
Okay... Now it doesn't work at all. Was there, perchance something you may have done slightly differently when you used the transfer utility? Abolutely nothing is happening when I follow these instructions... no morph transfers... nothing. I feel like there might be something small missing
Some tips that may help, make sure you start the process by setting gen3 female resolution level from high definition to base and subdivision level to 0 and dont forget to mark all the morphs you want to transfer on gen3 as favorites. good luck, its still working for me very well with both genesis 8 and victoria 8

FWIW, I used SickleYield's approach from https://www.deviantart.com/sickleyield/journal/Tutorial-Transferring-Character-Morphs-G1G2G3G8-409437916 but used Maria's Trasfer Utility settings. Note: I used the default distance tolerance (0.32 IIRC) as well.
