Genesis 8 Female mocap test

Testing the base Genesis 8 Female with mocap.. both body and facial.  Works like Gen3, maybe a little better in my opinion

  • Hi jaebea.. no, I've always used optitrack for the body and dynamixyz performer for the face.. done in motionbuilder first then brought into daz as fox and saved as .duf

    I'm assuming you did the mocap for G3.  I took a glance at G8 and the bones looked similar.  Did your mocap translate to the correct bones or did you have to adjust?

    I'm working on a larger project using Genesis3 characters, a 6 minute or so short that will be rendered in Daz Studio. (a very long project thanks to being a single man doing all the work).  I don't work with aniblocks though, just with fbx and pose files.  I do have longer clips, but the mocap is specific to my project, do you need something in particular?

    The rigging for G3 and G8 appears to be identical, so in motionbuilder the retargeting was exactly the same as with G3. (mocap systems such as OptiTrack export generic MB fbx files, which you then retarget to your specific character)  Facial morphs seemed to be mostly the same too, with the addition of a few that g3 doesn't have, so there was some adjustment there.
