New DAZ and Lip Sync

I use lip sync a lot.

I do have Mimic Live but ML doesn't let you import files and other important matters. So here I am doo dee doo doo trying to sync up a 10 minute long talk animation. And DAZ crashes horribly more than ever with this new version.

I know not many folks use LIP SYNC for animation here but seeing if others have similar troubles.

Another thing to ask is what figure or figures are you using? I found myself that genesis 3 is wonky about animations of just about anything. I experienced this problem with mimic when the audio file was longer then 2 minutes. I also had problems when the smoothing was set to update in real time once I shut that down it baked the frames and did not crash. I have to say this version seems a little more responsive in my opinion but then I do smaller chunks of audio and turn off smoothing from earlier experince. It may be more helpful to provide a little more info before you get frustrated and you may get more helpful replies. Hopefully this isn't as bad as it seems for ya and you get this sorted out.

    Hrm.

Well I'm using Aiko 3. I use her a lot. The late Genesis models just aren't toony enough for me. =^-^=

What's happening is DAZ is crashing after about 40% of analyzing the wav file for syncing in Lip Sync. Ugh. Just ugh. I cut the audio into very small chunks and it's still crashing consistently. But so is the 64bit version as I'd already said.

I've never tried to make a 10 minute video before... but while lip syncing - when I CAN get it to lip sync - after the third input DAZ will refuse to lip sync any more all. Even when I tried only a 1 minute piece. Just after so many frames it shoots me the proverbial bird.

Aiko expressions causes problems if they have been reordered in another program such as poser if it's the base figure with the injector channels intact it should bake out alright. Also I notice with each update the data doesn't read right if aiko or any generation 3 or 4 figure is not in the master library folder or in an outside runtime. Of course that would be evident when the figure is loaded. I only mention this because some of the morphs might have not been loaded to the figures and I had to consolidate all my daz content to one data folder to get some of my old generation figures to load correctly. Once I did that it all worked and loaded as expected.

Okay I'm not quite following you. Sorry about that.I'm trying. But I think I'm with you when I say yes, all my stuff is in one data folder. I'm always cleaning up the library mess that is DAZ's idea of organization.

Everything else is working great, it's just this stupid new DAZ apparently can't run on my computer. I'll go to an older version if I can find it this evening and see if this helps.I mean c'mon. It was crashing on me when I was giving Gen8 a shot last night, so it can't be Aiko's fault.

I made a mistake myself when I reordered morphs in poser with aiko trying to organize expressions , my bad it didn't work when I used mimic. I'm in no way blaming poor little aiko, just passing on my own foibles. Hopefully some one else can help you.

Do you mean you actually went in and moved the morph folders by hand? I've done that. Older DAZ's would say "looking for this!" and I find it and put it back where it goes when that happens. LOL. I do have Poser, but never use it. I'd bought it for the cloth room.... but this problem has me wondering if Poser can render with the same look I create with DAZ. When it comes to DAZ's toon look, I've got it down to a real art and I'm hard put to find a way to re-create it anywhere else. I have considered switching, though, because Poser's dynamics have functions DAZ lacks and I covet those functions overly much. Sinfully so.

I wasn't saying you were blaming Aiko, btw. I was just saying by process of elimination, she's not the culprit. Unless she's just that sneaky.

What poser does is allows grouping of morphs in self described catagories. Daz studio can do it too. I spent more years on poser and tend to do more in that platform. Although I like daz studio's render engines better(for animation I use open gl with a few lighting tricks). Also the Iray render is by far the best for stills in my opinion, light years ahead of Poser once again in my opinion, no software wars please. About messing up aiko 3 I could have created a new configuration file but being lazy I just loaded the basic with all the morphs in their default listings and went from there.

Oh, ha ha. Okay I know what you're talking about. I deal with them in DAZ all of the time, mostly because I often find myself having to make my own morphs.

I just had to resort to opengl today because the short bit I got synced was going to take 88 hours to render. The only problem with that is the shaders are lost, and the look of the shaders is what I'm after. I need a solution fast on that. Currently iray is faster on my puter than 3Delight.
