Installer hung up on installing CMS

Hi guys, I'm installing 4.9.4 and the installer seems hung up on Installing Content Management Service. It's been going for a few hours. Is this something that can take some time? It says installing so I guess it's doing something and shows up in the activity monitor. Not sure if I should let it go for awhile or cancel and do something else although I'm not sure what that would be. I'm doing it manually rather than through DIM if that makes any difference.

I know it's no help to you, but I had the exact same problem. For 2 days I tried both the DIM (which seems permanently brain-damaged when it comes to the most recent Daz Studio update, though it works okay on purchased stuff). Time after time, the manual installation file hung up when it reached the CMS. Tech Support tried to be helpful, but nothing worked.

It wasn't until, in desperation, I ran the manual installer for at least the 12th time since my troubles began and...it...slowed...down when it reached the CMS (with me figuring 'End of the line again, damn it'), but chugged on through to completion. I've been okay since then.

Tech Support couldn't explain the cause or the cure, so I don't have a clue what went wrong or right. For what it's worth, you might try what I did: keep firing up the manual installer and hoping that this time, just maybe, it'll work. Good luck. I know how infuriating it is.

Sounds like you accidently in the past installed using Administrator permissions on Windows.

The 1st and easiest way to try & solve your problem is to:

    1) Uninstall DAZ Studio plugins (using DIM)

    2) Uninstall DAZ Studio (using DIM)

    3) If you have it uninstall DAZ Studio Beta plugins (using DIM)

    4) If you have it uninstalle DAZ Studio Beta (using DIM)

If DIM won't work uninstall the usually Windows / osX way of uninstalling

    5) Reboot your computer, wait for networking to complete you connection to internet (not strictly needed though it save a bit of time)

    6) Start DIM (but don't start DIM 'as Administrator' though)

    7) Install DAZ Studio

    8) Install DAZ Studio plugins

    9) Install DAZ Studio Beta (if used)

    10) Install DAZ Studio Beta Plugins (if used)

And if that doesn't work you will need to repeat the above but before the reboot delete

    5a) delete C:\Users\<my user>\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4 and delete C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 and delete C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4 Public Build

or what left in those after the uninstalls. That is so you get permissions repaired if you installed 'as Administrator' earlier. They can be quite messy in Windows.

Then after step 10 you will need to use DIM to uninstall and reinstall all of your DAZ model products (i.e. M4/V4/Genesis Essentials/Genesis 2 Essentials/.../Victoria 8 and so on).

Finally you may need to re-enter all the serial numbers for DS and it's plugins after all that.

All that could take you a few hours.
