Even easier to remember, don't install anything with Connect unless that is the only install option for the item.

If you click Download Filters in DIM you can exclude connect Available items, assumkgn you don't want to download eveerything in a zip. If you do want to download everyting, or already have, then if you isntalled the default Filters for DIM you should be able to click the magnifying glass icon to the right of the filter box and in the By Tag sub- menu again exclude the Connect Available items.

I have both PD Iray Shader Kits installed with Daz Connect and haven't had any problem with them, although the metadata could use some improvement. What kind of problem did you encounter with them?

I've received a similar response from customer service when I reported a product that has Daz Connect as an installation type, but is known by Daz to not work with Daz Connect installation. They basically say it is to much manual work to fix it and they don't have the resources to do that.

Hi Richar, thanks for the tip but there are 2 side to the coin.

The first, as you point, out is hiding the Connect items in DIM. I don't know if you've actually tried this, but Connect has logical products whereas DIM has physical files (multiple files per product). So even if I filter out Connect items in DIM, additional files remain including StudioCF, OBJ etc.

The second side which you did not address is that I also need to filter out the DIM items in Connect, remembering which to not install or update through Connect. There is no equivalent filtering mechanism in Connect.

So the poor user is stuck having to manually manage the lsit of which products were installed where. This is the point I was trying to make in another thread about not thinking things through, which was not well received.

Items that are isntalled via DIM will not show as uninstalled in Connect (they will have the download icon, but will have colour thumbnails and will be listed among the isntalled items not among the grey uninstalled items). I don't know of a way to filter out items that could be installed via DIM but haven't been, but presumably you don't want to install those. You could of course put in a feature request for a filter, but it may well be that the option was cinsidered already and rejected as it would have taken resouces away from other things.

I don't get those errors in the log and the LIE script works fine for me, as far as I can tell. It selects colors and patterns and fade and dirt and does scaling.

    2017-06-24 01:24:16.682 Script executed successfully: D:/DAZ 3D/Studio/Daz Connect Data/data/cloud/1_24309/shader presets/parrotdolphin/pd iray shader kit 2/l.i.e. presets/pdisk2 + ! lie script.dsa

Very strange. Try uninstalling it, updating metadata for that product and reinstalling it. I've had that fix problems with products when no update was indicated.

I'm using 4.9.4 and reset/reinstalled twice this past week alone - bearing in mind when you reset CMS all the DAZ Connect products redownload themselves because there is no reimport metadata option for DAZ Connect. So I have used over 500GB of bandwidth just this past week!

At least its working for somebody else then. Tech suppport's solution was to install through DIM.

No, it doesn't re-download everything. It only re-downloads files whose MD5 checksums do not match the list of those downloaded when you connect.
