Anyone else having random crashes when trying to autofit clothes and hair to Genesis 8

Any one else having randon crashes when trying to Auto fit items to Genesis 8?  I have had multiple random crashes and just sent 8 bug reports to Tech Support.  I love DS but this is getting old.  I have updated to the latest drivers and am running 4.9.4.117 and did the Victoria 8 update last night.  No pattern to this and I am unable to duplicate it.  I can have a crash occur then when I reopen DS and do the same things again, no crash and it autofits.  Any one have any ideas?

    I am and it's not so random. Many hair and clothing products will crash DAZ when autofitting to G8F. I am going to uninstall all my Genesis 8 products & reinstall them because something is not installed correctly.

    I am, and it "seems" random, but I'm sure there's a pattern to it. I just haven't noticed yet what it is.

    Not so far and I've used all Genesis generations.  Something to watch for though.

    I thought it was from autofitting non-DAZ items to Gen 8, but I could be wrong.

    I had a crash when trying to auto-fit a G2F body suit to GF8.

    I have been getting crashes when auto fitting G3 to G8.  I noticed that if I select none instead of the type of thing it is (ie hair, shirt pants etc) I don't get a crash

    It crashes every time I try to autofit tentman's G3F knitted dress to G8F but I've autofitted other clothes OK.

    Edit - Just tried again selecting the type as none instread of a dress and it worked.

    Same here.  If it crashes the first time I try it, I restart DS and autofit as none and it works.

    I haven't been getting problems although I haven't done much autofitting of pre Genesis 3 stuff.

    I should mention, at the risk of cursing myself, that I don't get Studio crashes (Win 7 - 64 bit)

    I've been putting G8 through some rigorous tests and autofitting under various different conditions, trying to see if I can recreate some of my characters after converting from G3. I was getting crashes when fitting G3 clothing on G8 characters that I morphed in Zbrush. I wasn't surprised by the crashes, because I was pushing the subdivision too high--anything autofit to a character morphed (3rd party) above "base" subdivision can cause a crash, even if the morph seems to load-save-and reload perfectly. In the few cases where a crash didn't happen on one of my own HD character morphs, the clothing didn't fit (to the arms specifically). Maybe some clothing items should be autofit completely zeroed. Choose base subdivision and zero/zero on the render and view subdivision. I've gotten fewer crashes (as others have said) loading the clothing into the scene fit to "none," and afterwards using "fit to" after zeroing everything. Otherwise, things are working much better than any other previous generation of Genesis.

    I have them, usually when fitting female clothes to males or G2 clothes to G3.

    Same here. Also, Studio crashes when attempting to autofit G3 male clothing to G3 female. I reported the issue.

    I received an email from DAZ tech support reporting they have fixed it in the latest beta and the fix should be out in the next general release.

    Anyone have any idea when that update might be? It really is geting difficult all the crashes trying to autofit to G8 female..

    Yes I have them too, but it appears to happen less if I use a standard G8/8.1 and then apply morphs to the G8/8.1 than the other way around. Maybe this helps.

    Auto fitting OOT 8 and 8,1  hair to G9 is causing me problems

    Same here. Random crashes, and never know what will cause it so have to save often.

    This all started recently within the past few months.

    You lose the bones when you autofit hair so it's best to parent it anyway.

    This thread is from 2017. Whatever isues you may be seeing, theya re very unlikely to be the same as those discussed in the original thread.
