So I have a vote incentive to go up tomorrow... Melody 2 with Silvermoon hair in a shower...
Need to give her a head full of suds so she'll have a reason to have her arms raised...
Shampoo suds aren't easy to fake, snow doesn't cut it...
Nothing I try works, time to panic...
This just appeared in the store: https://www.daz3d.com/3d-toon-clouds-for-iray-and-3delight
Close enough, ought to work.
Thank you, Marshian. I know it's not what you intended, but kitbashing is my best friend.

Oh you're right, they do look like they could be foam. What a creative use for them. Good eye. :) I hope you show us when you're done, if you get them.
Shows promise:
3TC Density 9.0, SSS Amount 0.14. Still needs tweaking, but I'm happy.
Now if Marshian would just do this as actual suds. It would be nice if the hair suds were one morphing piece, instead of three clouds scaled to 2.0%!
Maybe Maclean will come up with some Everyday Morphing Suds...
Maybe a nautical themed product - "rum, sudsomy and the lash"?
Very clever!
I think you may have doubled the sales of Marshian's product.
May even find a market on renderotica with that... sorry, couldn't hold it back.
You could call it "Head in the clouds"...
He's got another product that can be used as soap bubbles here: https://www.daz3d.com/above-the-clouds-for-iray-nimbostratus
I think he shared a render in Novica's thread showing it used in a bathtub (maybe thread 7, I'll look.)
And Ron has soap sud brushes too: https://www.daz3d.com/rons-suds
IMVHO, the clouds look better than Foam Party. There's something about the render that Cybersox13 linked to...the foam looks all lit up and unnatural.
Laurie
Thank you! In the cart it goes!
Do Ron's brushes work in other programs besides Photoshop? I don't use it, and haven't bought any.
I'd rather have the planet Erewhon's Suds Emporium!
I wonder how hard it would be to create a bunch of nearly-transparent reflective spheres and instance a zillion of them across the surface of the foam. It wouldn't be perfect of course, and you would probably have to create a cluster with a few larger ones and smaller ones arranged to avoid having overlapping bubbles. But perhaps it would add to the effect? Might be tricky though.

Yes, It is! So nice to make a new friend!
Awesome! Don't run into too many people that know the series, always nice to find another fan
I would hazard a guess to create a mesh with physical zillion tiny bubbles would be serious overkill with mesh density and scene load... Perhaps with the right knowledge a new specific shader could be written to do it, to simulate thousands of bubbles within the volume. I cant see it feasible with Iray Uber.
Although I've never had a call for suds in my projects, I do want to commend the OP for the great thinking outside the box with that wonderful render haha
I'm glad you went to the trouble of making it.
I'm also happy that you came here and spoke with us.
Makes things easier to buy if there's a friendly person behind them.
Oh, there are a lot of us... though Weber himself seems to be suffering from massive writers block on the series and the last few books have barely progressed the story at all. For a while there Eric Flint's side stories were keeping the franchise running, but I think he's been hamstrung by the non-progress in the main universe. At this point I just hope that Weber can pull it together and finish off the Mesan alignment arc so there'll be some kind of an ending before the series ends up getting turned over to someone else to complete based on his notes. :(
Agreed. I am afraid that David might be learning the Steven King lesson, that once you become famous, you can churn out anything and it will sell. I just bought the most recent book in the Safehold series, and it's over for me, even if he writes more, I won't be buying them. I, too, wish that he would get back to the Harrington series, and to the things which made him such a popular author. Building interesting characters that the ordinary person can relate to, putting them in interesting situations, and letting them figure it out. I think that turning his early series into a space opera with a cast of thousands was a big mistake.
Lately his books have read like something John Ringo would write, perfect people doing things flawlessly, bad guys irredeemably evil and incompetent, no grey areas or self-doubts. This was most evident in "Out of the Dark", where I found myself liking the bad guys more than the good guys. He isn't creating flawed characters any more, like Aubry Wanderman or Warner Caslet, or even the young Honor. At least, unlike Ringo, Weber hasn't overused the Deus Ex Machina, or resorted to BDSM to attract readers. "Ghost" was garbage, and "Callie's War" was way over the top. The man has some seriously ugly things living inside his skull.
Argh. I didn't intend to get into a Ringo Rant. I'll just add this and stop: I know John's a former Marine of some type, he certainly has the lingo down pat, but I don't need the constant reminders of just how tacticool he is. When I read the phrase "Battle Rattle" (web gear) used twice in one paragraph, I put the book down and left it there.
I think part of the issue with the slowdown in the mainline books is he's having to drastically change the timing on where everything went. He had planned on killing off Honor during the first Battle of Manticore and doing a time jump to continue the series with her children and the new generation of characters from Shadow of Saganami, but his wife convinced him not to kill her off. So he's had to reshuffle his entire plan to accomodate that drastic change.
I don't use Photshop, but Affinity Photo and all of Ron's Brushes I've picked up, I can load and use like I was in Photoshop.
I also just found it will use some Photoshop add-ons and I'm thinking of seeing if it will work with the Photoshop Bridge, which would be very Cool.
I don't know what you use, but read the documentation for your programs to find out about the Brushes.
I am wondering how would that look with a bit of frosty/specular effect similar to this:
Hmmm....that candied fruit looks good. Maybe I can make some later this year.
My clouds are not so billowy, opaque, and steamy looking but they do have a nice sunset look. Maybe I have them too close? I was going for an after-the-storm look.
I applied the 9.5 Shader Preset & then the Sunset Preset. Which should I applied to make them look billowy? Or do I need to use that special CloudCam you have supplied in one of your PreLoads?
They are meshes and quite nice ones too with a nice set of camera, shaders, and iRay settings besides a nice selection of clouds.
