Morgan not Morris sports car

Hi Guys

Just downloaded the "Morris sports car".... Great detail. However it is not a Morris but a Morgan +4 (a 2 seater). The Morgan is made in a little village in the Malverns UK, not too far from the Welsh border with England. How do I know? Well I used to own one that I bought new from the factory .... typical old fashioned British sports car with a timber upper structure made from Ash. They also do a +4 (4 seater)  and a +8 (2 seater) which goes very fast! They all have a canopy and a tonneau cover to keep the rain out.

So if anyone needs more history or detail on this model, I suggest surfing the web for Morgan Sports Cars.  

The Morris brand is a completely different car.

I misread the date as 2002 and I thought, "Of course he wouldn't know about that discussion as it was no doubt vaporized when the old forum was "nuked".  But looking more closely, I see the year was 2012.

my brother's first car was a really crappy Morris Minor BTW the floor rusted out and fell off

I would think if any correction was to be made, it would be up to the PA that created it. That it hasn't been seems to indicate to me that the perceived error was either not worth fixing, or the PA deciding that the name was what they wanted to go with.

While true and any major change in mesh would be a big undertaking, I don't see why they just don't change the name since that seems to be the issue

Anyway,  Morgan are still producing hand built sports cars,  Morris got absorbed into a bigger company and the name sort of disappeared from site apart from among  the vintage and veteran car afficionados.

Also of course it could be that the PA, not being a native english speaker, got confused because amongst the aforesaid vintage car enthusiasts some Morris cars, notably the Morris minor, are affectionatley known as Moggies or Mowogs.  Easy to confuse .

My 2 cents: I had never heard of a Morris (except as my father's middle name), but I did know Morgan. I'm betting the PA tried to honor the trademark and picked a close name, accidentally picking a defunct auto maker by accident.

I assume the PA knew what he or she was replicating (I mean, how not?) but shied away from calling it a Morgan or a Mog—ancient slang only few will remember—for fear of treading on someone's copyright or trademark toes. No sweat, you can call it anything you want once you've plunked it into a scene. I'd be tempted to call it an Alfa Romeo or a Lancia, but hey, I'm sentimental.
