Iray Viewport Response, Camera vs. Perspective

Hey, wait a minute...
Is it only me or does it matter in the 3D viewport whether you're set to Camera view or Perspective view in terms of redraw response for an Iray Draw Style??
Wow, if i set it to Perspective view it's MUCH faster than if I view thru the Camera. I try to rotate from the camera view and it just locks up for maybe 5 seconds, then barely responds. But with Perspective, it responds almost immediately (though very grainy of course).
I don't get it.

Do you have depth of field on in the camera?
Nope. But now that you mention it I do have a light I attached and parented to the camera. Maybe the motion of the light as I move the cameras causes some re-drawing that wouldn't happen with a stationary light?
I'll have to check, but right in the middle of a render now...
Thanks.
In my experience, performance is always somewhat hampered via camera view. I think this is partly due the fact the software is recording every position you make (note, you can't undo a perspective view change).
In regards to iray performance, here's a tip: If you want to position the camera, open a 2nd non-iray-draw-style viewport and chose said camera. You now will have two duplicate views of the select cam (one with a iray preview and another without). Now, use just the non-iray-draw viewport to position and you'll notice how much faster it is vs attempting to manipulate it via the iray view-port.
I've also noticed this improves the performance of manipulating poses and pretty much anything in the scene. So the rule of thumb: never attempt making changes to a scene via an active iray-draw-style viewport. Always do it via another non-iray viewport.
