does anyone know how to make a morph or how to make blades flex on a helicopter in Carrara (8.5)?

    Hi :)

Do you mean like this :

The flexing of the blades is done by making one blade, and adding a morph target (with a bent down shape) to it.
That single blade is then duplicated and rotated to create the complete set of blades, which are then "Grouped".

By doing it this way,.. you can adjust the morph value in the "Master" blade, and Carrara will adjust the duplicates.
which makes it easier to deal with any adjustments.

By creating a group, you can add a "spin" modifier, (or several at different speeds), to animate the complete group.

    Hope it helps. :)

    Hi mhscspo :)

In the Vertex modeller, you'd select your model,.. create a Morph Area,.. and then create a new Morph Target,..
Then Edit that new morph Target,.

Select the blade tip (end), and enable "soft selection",
Use the move tools "arrows" to reposition the edges / vertices down, to make the blade look droopy.
You can also use the rotate tools to rotate the selected parts if you want to.
but you're basically adjusting the shape of that model, to create the bent down shape you need.

Once you're happy with the shape,. Click the "Valid" button.

You can Switch to Animation mode in the vertex modeller,. and test the morph slider, of just jump back into the Assembly room to see what your new morph looks like in action.

you can always go back into the vertex modeller and edit that morph target, and then click "valid" to change it.

    Hope it helps :)

    Pic to help
