That's saving a thumbnail, so presumably you were saving a sceen or preset? Did you do as it suggested and try again, using a different name?

Where are you trying to save ffrom - the bottom of the render window, or File>Save Last Render? To what folder are you trying to save?

it could be a permisions thing can you save to another place on your computer?

I actually get those errors saving to my H drive on occasions, a restart fixes it but it seems to be virtual RAM related from doing a render ironically.

Can you save a file - of any type - from another application to the same location?

OK, so you are saving a scene. Is this a new scene (giving you a file dialogue) or a scene you haev saved before (which won't give a dialogue, assuming you have entered something for author name in Edit>Preferences)?

Did that too. The same thing happened. I even tried unstalling and re-installing DAZ, nothing.

Can you save other scenes normally?

Can you save other scenes normally?

No. I can only save on my thumb drive.

So you can save to other locations, but not to your Documents folder? Can other applications save to the Documents folder? Can DS save to a different folder in your Documents folder?

Just like I said, I can only save renders on my thumb drive. Every other application on my laptop works fine.

I'm getting confused again - are you saving renders to the thumbdrive, or are you using File>Save (which saves a scene, not a 2D image)?

OK, and you can save to the thumbdrive but not to the Documenmts folder? At all, or do you get the .duf file OK just not the PNG thgumbnail?

I can save to the thumb drive, but not to the Documents folder and I get the .duf files okay, just not png thumbnail and renders

  • That's odd - and if you render you can't save, using the options at the bottom of the render window or File>Save Last Render? Does saving renders to a diffrent format work? (It wills til try, and I suspect fail, to create a PNG thumbnail if you save the render to a folder in a Render Library but try saving to another location.)
