Typing "Image Name" under Render Settings Bug or Feature?

This has been an issue for some time now...  When Typing in an Image Name under Render setting text always Jumps to the End of the string.
For Example an image name might be "A15B12"  I want to change it to "A21B12."  Natually I would want delete the "15" and insert a "21"  What I would get is "A2B121."  After I type the "2" the currsor jumps to the end of the string.  I have not noticed this behavior anywhere else in the program.  But thats not how a Text Box is supposed to work...

This has existed too long (and is such a prominant place that is often used) for me to be the only one to have noticed,  Which Begs the question Is this a behavior some people find desireable?  Or am I not the only one too Lazy deal with the bug report submission process?

    I reported this to Customer Service long long ago. It has never been fixed. Perhaps it requires an update to the QT package that the interface is based on. It is a very ANNOYING bug!

    did you regularly request a status update on your bug?
    What did the statements of the customer service be?

    I submitted Ticket #180855 "Text cursor in Render Settings "Image Name" field jumps to the end when trying to insert or delete" on November 23, 2014. Customer Service responded that they submitted it to the bug tracker. After 5 months with no further response, I added a note that the problem still occurred in 4.8.0.9 Public Beta and asked if it would be fixed when 4.8 was released. They responded that it was still "Open" in the bug tracker. Since then I have received no further response, and obviously they have not fixed it.

    now my summery for the 4 still open issues was simply closed without any of them being reworked.
