It's not a leaf blower, but anyone remember the guy who flew with a hang-glider over Las Vegas during a boxing match using a propeller on his back?

I got a friend who do tons of weird things (he's been doing that since we were in school together). He had one of those on his back while biking! He did 70 km/h on the road, passing all the cars stuck in traffic jams. What a way to travel to work. Now he's building and test riding roller coasters all over the world.

I'm unhinged I would love to try that. I have always liked doing crazy things like that, like jumping out of a perfectly good plane. :) Which unfortunately I never got the chance to do. Now being a crip that is now out of the question.

I'm not so sure about that.. I think for the right price we can arrange for you to get chucked out of a plane ;)

And if the tip is good enough, we'll even hand you a chute!

Awh don't spoil the surprise, lol

I think its unfair to lay the blame on the devices.. it's solely the idiots who use them irresponsibly.. :)

...the trouble is,the idiots tend to outnumber those with common sense. Give them one more toy to be distracted with and they become even a bigger danger to everyone else.

...and as to the leaf blower, what ever happened to rakes and push brooms? The latter are a heck of a lot quieter, easier on the environment and a more permanent solution. So often I see someone blow leaves off a walkway or parking lot only to have the wind blow them back less than an hour later.

Totally agree.. idiots are everywhere these days *and* they seem to be multiplying.. but still, it would be a shame to limit all the cool stuff just because of them. I guess that's why the 'Darwin Award' exists ;)

As for leaf-blowers.. yea, I don't get the ones which just blow - ours actually sucks them up, and shreds them too, so it can go straight on the compost heap. Not that I've had a chance to get our there this year, but alas :)

...the trouble is,the idiots tend to outnumber those with common sense. Now I don't consider myself to be better than anyone else, just different but I have to agree with that bit. When I first meet Christine all those years ago I kept saying the exact same thing for which I was ignored. 20 years later Christine finally agrees.

I have a yard stick to measure ones idiots status....first I am the biggest idiot as the monty python song says "Its good to be an idiot" and I agree but I have common sense. It's when we get idiots without common sense like Football fans, people who watch Big Brother and Towie and then rave about it on FB. (That last bit about FB I made up but I can see it happening), people who vote thinking it will change the country and their lives, people who think Elvis is still alive...he died last week, people who think the world will end on the 12th or 21st.

I could go one but I am bored now and I am off to FB and if you feel you have been insulted then you are an idiot for taking me seriously. :)

You are close to one of my fundamental thesis:

The intelligence on the planet is constant, just the population is growing!

    lol, my second is:

Picture the average human, then realize that half of the population is more stupid.

not entirely happy with this one, it was just an experiment in 2012. There are no lights used in this image and no post work.

i don't like the shadows on her face. The advantage of using objects as light sources is that you get light coming from realistic places, in this case from the overhead florescent lights, the disadvantage is you don't have the controls you have with using regular lights, you can't adjust the shadow settings or AO or anything. I did this just to see what an image with no lights would be like. I think a combination of the 2 techniques would work well.

Yea - I agree.. it's a good starting point to quickly light most of the scene, but it's a bit flat .... like you say, a few lights in there will sort that out a treat ;)

yeah, it was just an experiment, i wanted to see what the ambient objects could do and i was curious to see what a scene with no lights would look like. Hmmm maybe I should have used a Curious hallway...

Some times you just got to try stuff out and see what happens
