uber Hair is optimised for hair, and includes several presets.

Does that come with DAZ Studio? Or do I buy it separately?

Uber Hair is a stripped down version of Uber Surface that comes with Daz Studio so if you worked on it for a while you might get the results you want. BUT I bought it for the ease in setting up hair surfaces quickly or to give a good starting point. If the hair doesn't have a bump map Uber Hair will inject one for you. Yeah a nice little product Uber Hair. And no I don't get paid to say that. LOL

The map files would work, but the shader won't. Remember that Reality uses Lux which has materials independent of Daz Studio. Reality does its best to convert some, but there are tons of features in the UberShaders which aren't supported at all. Hair is currently one of the things which I find looks a bit flat in Lux as a result, though that may be largely due to it being solid geometry rather than individual hairs.

There's no point in using fancy shaders if you are going to Reality - you need to get the settings right in Reality. As I recall there was a fairly long discussion of hair in one of the Reality Renders threads on the old forum - forumarchive.daz3d.com .
