I'm having the same problem. This is especially infuriating to me because I use mostly Daz3 really (I still haven't gotten used to Daz4 mainly because of this very problem) but now this same problem is happening in Daz3 now. And as far as I know I haven't made ANY changes to the content library. I just opened a .daz scene and I get this screenshot.
So yeah. I need a fix for this. And I'm not sure how to fix this. I might need visual aids.
Please help.
This scene was created in DS3 and opened in DS3?

I created the scene in Daz3; I opened it here in Daz4. But now when I try opening it in Daz3 I get the same result. Which is very odd because I've used the scenes in Daz3 before.
Overall, I'm just gonna start using Daz4 primarily now so we we don't have to worry about fixing Daz3 too much; I just want to be able to use my .daz scenes in Daz4 without issue, then convert the .daz files I have (which is a lot) to .duf, since that's the Daz3D file of choice now.

DS3 cannot read duf files. duf files do not work in any version of DS below DS4.5. If there is a chance you may want to open the scene in DS3 (I have plugins that don't work in DS4.x so I have a version of DS3A on the system) do not use Save when resaving a DS3 scene. Use Save As and do not save as a duf.

I know DS3 can't read .duf files, I want to use DS4 primarily now. But the main issue is that some scenes and sometimes characters don't load up correctly and I want to find a solution to that.
Does the log have details on what files couldn't be found?
... and that's the overall gist; I'd post the whole thing but I only have so many letters to use. Then it went to build the scene anyway...
Again, overall gist.
I searched for a 3_0 folder and I have two of 'em; one from Daz Studio 2/3 (I also have a Daz2 that I'll be discontinuing soon along with Daz3) and one for Daz4. In both of them, the .dsos that the application needed weren't there. So that says to me that they must've been deleted somehow. Certainly perplexing however you look at it. Unless there's a simple solution somehere I can't seem to find it.
Do you have any folders named "CHoutsidePlantF_840" in another location?
Okay, I just checked. There's one in a "data" folder, no "3_0." At least in the Daz2 designated files.
Applications>DAZStudio>content>data>CHoutsidePlantF_840.
Another is set in...
Applications>DAZStudio>content>data>CHoutsidePlantF_840>CHoutsidePlantF_840.
Those two are set in Daz2; in Daz3 there's two more, in...
Applications>DAZ 3D>DAZStudio3>Studio3>ShaderMixer>Shader Mixer Presets>data>3_0>CHoutsidePlantF_840.
And the other in...
Applications>DAZ 3D>DAZStudio3>Studio3>ShaderMix>Shader Mixer Presets>data>3_0>CHoutsidePlantF_840>CHoutsidePlantF_840
So from the looks of this, it seems like Daz3 forgot where these went, and Daz4 has no idea where they were to begin with. So we need to show Daz4 where these are. So do I move these files or just redirect something in the application?
It sounds like you just need to add "Applications>DAZ 3D>DAZStudio3>Studio3>ShaderMixer>Shader Mixer Presets" as a "DAZ Studio Format" content folder, or else copy the versions that are just in Data to Data>3_0
That did it! Awesome!! Thanks for walking me through that. Everything is running smoothly. :) Hell, I may not need to convert the .daz to .duf files after all.
Wonder if it'll help anyhow?
In any case, that's one headache gone. I can focus on using the newest DazStudio more often, I think.
I've been resaving scenes as .duf even if they are working, just in case -- the .daz format has a lot of issues, .duf's are easier to recover if there is a problem.
