DAZ 3D GALLERY OVERHAUL NEEDED!

Dear wonderful Daz team, wanted to share this with you as well as all users for their thoughts as well. This has been something I've been thinking about for a while. You guys use to have a really cool setup as far as your Daz Gallery in the Beginning. Then you changed it to what it is today. But now there are so many people adding their artwork, it's crazy. You've got everything from "I don't know what it is" to "amazing professional artwork at a level I'll probably never reach", lol.
I just thought is would be great when any of us upload an image that we could choose from a category list of what our artwork is about, so that it's not lost into the thousands of images that are all thrown together. You've got sci-fi, with medieval, mix with portraits, mixed with historical, mixed with monsters and so on. The way the gallery is now, it's nealy pointless to add anything as it will get lost in the moutains of "For Never Seen It". We each have certain taste and interest and many of us if not most of us don't want to have to strum through everything there is just to enjoy the "Medieval Images" or the "Sci-fi Images". Sure I want to see other people's artwork, but I don't want to have see everything there is or to do some kind of search to narrow down what could already be in a category list with just a simple click.
Also It would be great to have a 5 star rating available like in these images I created. This way someone can not only like the image, but also give it the star rating that they think it should have. Once it reaches a 5 star rating 25 times or more it falls into the second top wining category at the top of the gallery. And then for the "top of the month" gets into the "Best Of The Best" category. By doing this, it makes it way more fun for everyone, way less of a headache trying to look through every image there is and allows us to just look at what we want to. I added a few categories on my image below, but any of that can be changed up. It would be nice to be able to quickly add to which ever category I want my image to be uploaded in and view which category I want to look at. Then if I want to do a search beyond that, it would be a second choice to do so.
It's just a thought. A really good idea that could be built on, even if there's a better idea. It seems these days that only the most progessional images get to the top, while other very good images sufer, because they sadly could never win or get into your one and only "top category best of the best". Most time it's the same people getting into that top list.
Please consider some kind of change like this or if you have any new ideas where we don't have to sift through every image and something that could give others a chance to get into a wining category of somekind on your gallery. And thank you for everything you guys are already doing for us. I just thought the Daz Gallery could use a new facelift or some new ideas as I feel like my artwork is getting lost in a sea of colors and shapes.

No, mostly people that blog and have followers get to the top, however, most of the best images get a few likes if it's on the front page of the gallery as newly uploaded at the right time of the day so that a few people have the opportunity to see and like it and that's it.
At the bottom of the main gallery page for everyone (not your personal page) are prebuilt filters and search text boxes. However, it's questionable if they even work proberly as they will show if you for example choose 'Most Popular' in the last '24 Hrs' images that have only one or two likes. So if those 1 or like likes are really one of the top last 24 hours that should tell you how few people view the galleries. The top liked image in the gallery all time has only 154 likes. That is very small amount of likes. The Gallery is not really a place to expect to build a high volume of views for your renders really.
But you can do that category/genre stuff for your posts already - Add Category after you upload your render.
However if you want your personal galleries to be devided into categories and genres & such you will need to create suib-galleries yourself.
There were isn't that much render art posted most days either - most days the number of new renders used for new products exceeds the number of new uploaded gallery renders easily.
Some people post only to the Art section of the forums but even including those renders the number of new renders used in the DAZ Store for new products usually exceeds the number of customer uploaded renders.
What I would like is to have a Favorite list of posters to the gallery that is listed as a tab or at the bottom of my main gallery page. It's not too important to me whether others that viewed my page would see my list of favorite Gallery Members (as opposed to favorite gallery art although DAZ could add the to the gallery as well) so long as the list of my favorite gallery artists was saved and visible to me.
Most frustrating to me is there are lots on great art and when I find an artist I like there is no way to bookmark that artist in my personal gallery and of course I'm not going to remember all these wierd avatar names.
Ah, looking at those images you are one of the artists I wanted to have an on-site bookmark for...but you see want I mean...now I must make a browser bookmark & what do my browser bookmarks look like? 10 years of unsorted bookmarks on gardening, carving, DAZ, programming, a complete mess...sure I'm going to go through and straighten that out soon, even my DAZ Content Library is better organized.

The main problem with catagories is you limit your viewing audience. The way it is now everyone that views the gallery has a chance to see your work, no matter what catagory it's in. I have stumbled on images i wouldn't normally view that I ended up rating and/or leaving a comment on.
Other than that, it's still a popularity contest. The artists that have big followings usually get the most views and comments. I have had two images in the top ten and it was pretty cool, but I try to upload images "I" am happy with so I don't get caught up in the popularity contest. Personally I would like to see two sections, postwork and non postwork
That is the thing, it shouldn't benefit everyone. If you have the talent and your image shines, then you get the accolades. If not, try harder or be happy with your own personal success.
No one is seeking fame in the DAZ Galleries! LOL
It would simply be nice to have one's personal Gallery page have a list of your own personal favorite galleries by other gallery members! Even though the total output in the galleries is not a prodigious amount one doesn't want to scroll through pages of posts to find their favorite gallery posters.
I hardly ever use the galleries here for one reason; it's the only part of the site that loads extremely slowly for me.
That too but it loads as fast as the main store.
I check out the galleries daily and like my favorite images. There usually are only 1 or two new pages a day and that is easy to check out.
