Looking for hair again...

I'm looking for hair like this man's.
Or hair with a braid like that.
Or something.
I have another hair like it but I can't get it's textures to work right. So here's a picture of the guy's hair and a picture of the hair that I'm trying to use. But as you can see I can't make the braid black, only brown.

    I'm using Poser.
For some reason I put it as black as the material would get and it still turns out brown.

Are the specular or ambient brown?
