For some reason one of my character has transparent teeth and while I render it they are quite dark not nice white. Does anyone of you know a nice fix for this?

Here is a photo

Thank you

*EDIT
I have found the shader for the teeth from Victoria7

I had a similar problem when applying the Teeth SSS preset to V7. It worked correctly in the latest release, but in the beta, (.117,) it rendered almost black...

Went to bed, shut off the computer... next day they rendered just fine in the beta!

So... maybe a reboot of your computer will fix that...? Couldn't hurt.

Penelope (the Nerd girl) also has transparent teeth in the viewport, but they render OK.

  • I have the same issue with the newest version and it doesn't fix itself after reboot or when rendered.

Here's a shot of the rendering.

What do I need to fix for the teeth to be NORMAL!

Check the Refractive Index Weight parameter for the teeth in the Surfaces tab. If its not already set to zero, then set it to that number. Whenever I had this problem with teeth appearing like that, Refractive Index Weight was always the culprit. Plus it takes a hell of a lot longer(at least for me) for them to render with refractive index weight applied, and doesn't guarantee that the teeth will completely render and look as they should.
  • Thanks magog!  It worked wonders!
