Pose preset either not saving or not loading

I'm attempting to save and reapply a pose for V3 Sherri hair.  The hair is not fit to a figure, I select it and File > save as > pose preset.  I select the file, then uncheck translation and press Accept to save it.  I then select an unposed copy of the hair, then double-click on my saved content thumbnail.  Nothing happens.  What am I doing wrong?   Using 4.8 if it matters.

Nevermind, I was tired yesterday.  Of course it doesn't work, because it's not a pose.  It's a combination of morphs and a pair of deformers, so I think I can't save it as any kind of preset.  It will just have to be a scene subset that I'll use instead of the default hair.
