Hi, a SSS skin shader is included in Luxus? I've found a very interesting article on Lux Render for Blender (http://www.luxrender.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=5323&start=60) is possible to reach that lever of realism in DAZ?.

Yes. Results will vary based on the settings used and image maps used for skin.

Luxus is simply a portal to LuxRender. LuxRender is what really does the work. I assume they are using a glossy_translucent with a subsurface scattering volume for that skin. You can certainly set one of those up. Automatically translating human surface shader to it is a little trickier, but Luxus usually gives excellent results.

And Luxus allows you to send commands directly to LuxRender, even overriding the material entirely, although this is fairly advanced, but easier than editing files. So if it's possible in LuxRender, Luxus should be able to tell it to do it.

Lux is an ubiased render engine. DS natively uses a version of 3Delight which is a biased render engine. Depending upon your skills with lighting and material settings, you can attain a high degree of realism with 3Delight but to date I haven't seen it reach the level of realism achieved in unbiased render engines.

Did just the plugin get updated or did the content get an update as well?

The plugin is showing as 1.0.0.3 and the content is still at 1.0.0.2.

The SPPM fix works fine...but if SPPM isn't selected for both areas where it needs to be, Lux will probably crash...but that's more they way Lux behaves than a fault of the plugin.

Also, something else. The current weekly build has a problem with SPPM...it will only use a single thread/core. The official release and the previous weekly build work properly.

In the other Luxus thread I read the excellent post by millighost explaining texture gamma. Perhaps in the next update you can make the default 2.2 instead of 1. I still see people posting images and complaining about problems who apparently haven't read that post or understood its implications. Plus, it can be a pain to always have to remember to change it even if I do know about it.
