Genesis 3 and 8 not showing up?

Hello all,

I downloaded the newest version, Daz Studio 4.9, and clicked on the panel to the left that has all my products.  I clicked to download /install the Genesis 8 starter essentials.  I also looked on daz3d.com for the Genesis 3 starter essentials.  Both of them show up as purchased.  I downloaded and installed them.

But neither the Genesis 3 or 8 models are showing up in my content library?

I've also downloaded and installed other items which ARE showing up in my Daz Studio, so I know how to do it.  But for some reason the 3 and 8 models aren't showing up?  Do the models not come with the download, but they only give you accessories to models that you don't even have?

What I have in my "DAZ People" folder is: Basic Child, Basic Female, Basic Male, Genesis 2 Base Female, Genesis 2 Base Male, Genesis, and Millenium Baby 3.

Where is the Daz People folder? That sounds like the Poser Formats version and no, the Genesis 3/8 figures won't show there as they are not compatible with the DSON Importer. The Primary location is \Daz Studio Formats\folder installed to (or Daz Connect for items ins talled inside DS)\People\Genesis whichever.

Are you looking in the Content Library or Smart Content? If you attach a screenshot of what you see, that will help us figure this out. Click on Attach a file at the bottom of the posting window and then click Browse...to locate the screenshot to select it.

The thumbnails for Genesis 3 male and female do not look like people. Maybe that is throwing you off??? Genesis 3 character thumbnails have a purple background with a big number 3 and a vague silhouette of a head and torso. The Genesis 8 female character thumbnail has a turquoise background with the big number 8 and a vague silhouette of a head and torso.

One thing to keep in mind, Keith, is that any content that you add to your library will not usually show up immediately in DAZ Studio if you have it open when the new content is added. You must restart DAZ Studio to see the newly added content, unless something has changed recently.

I'm not sure that's true; hitting 'Refresh' in the Content view works for me without restarting.

  • So much of the content is not showing up, tried reinstalling, nothing works

Reinstalling the content? How are you installing - manually, Install Manager, or Connect? Not showing up where - Content Library, under Daz Studio Formats, or in a database-driven view such as Smart Content or Categories/Products in the Content Library?
