Best free security suite that plays well with DS

What is a good security suite that will play well with Daz studio and smart content/connect.   I got a 32 bit computer which is not to powerful so I rather do free as that is what my budget lets me have.

I run BitDefender and MalwareBytes on multiple desktops and laptops of various power and configurations and have 0 issues.

Bitdefender provides a free antivirus/anti-phishing/anti-fraud software, and doesn't bombard you with advertising pop-ups like AVG and others. It has very little if any configuration settings, so if you like to tinker with settings it might not be for you. Even the updates aren't configurable. You just install it and let it do the rest. The only time it prompts me for action is if an update fails, and then you can click retry to manually check for updates. That doesn't happen often though. It also doesn't bog my system down like Norton or McAfee.

I am advised to tell you that

ZoneAlarm is known (specifically) to conflict with PostgreSQL, unless it has been updated and said update has been made available to the general public.

  • I've been quite happy simply using Microsoft Defender (Security Essentials on pre-Win10) and Windows Firewall.  It just works, without bloat and nonsense.

I stopped dealing with realtime A/V a long time ago, and instead installed ublock origin and noscript on my browser. I also keep a pristine backup on a seperate drive, so if something does manage neak through, I just restore that backup. I have never had to restore as of yet, due to anything other than the dreaded windows rot lol.

I am back for looking for something for my notebook

  • I'd still opt for Windows Defender/MSFT Security Essentials.  It's very low-impact.

Windows Defender / Windows Firewall - you don't even have to install them or configure Windows Defender/Windows Firewall to allow your computer to update the Windows Firewall/Windows Defender definitions.

I tried to install one but it would not install for some odd reason.
