modelize space

hi

someone know a tutoral or a way to create a space environnement arround a spaceship ?

i try to texturize planes or the inside of a dome,put some light but the rendering  it's not glorious and of course i can't make animated camera like big scrolling all arround the spaceship like Starwars.

daz is enable to do a thing like that or must i try with another software ? (and in this case wich software ?)

for information,the space ship is created with 3dmax. inside room (with windows to space) are 3dmax too but i importe them in daz then i texturize and shadering them.

    Do you mean as in 3D prodecural space environment? That would take very long to render once you generated the 3D structures.

    linwelly - thanks but its not what i search. the tutoral is for making a texture for a plane who look like space.

    nonesuch00 - yes and no. i understand the procedural will take very long time to render but i don't wan't something procedural, i want a normal space environement.

     

    i think that i misspoke what i want. i'm looking for a way to create a space environement in full 3D in daz, where the spaceship can move and no matter where the camera is pointing,there is always space (black color and little sparkle for star) in the background.

    i don't want a sort of texturized plane that i must always move with the camera.

    What you can do is create a HDRI that you can use as your environment in the environment tab of the render settings. That is, as far as I know, what KindretArts product does.

    But after all behind every way you want to use it there is a texture which depicts your space. even if you use a cyclorama which has several layyers, there are still textures on it.

    It is a collection of HDRI. It's like mapping a texture onto the inside of a sphere that encompasses the entire scene. As you move the camera (full 360 degrees), the background will move accordingly. These environment maps that contain lighting information to illuminate objects in your scene, too.

    i try Hdri but that doesn't do what i want.

    it put a fixed background so if my camera turn to see another thing,the background don't turn and be always the same.

    Hdri made the same thing that i made with a simple textured plane.

    it's not an environnement of space.

    i don't try The Heart of Space,i think it made the same thing

     

    i recently see an exemple of what i want in the movie Osiris Child.

    you see,the cloud dust,the astéroides,the planet moving and in the background there is the space.

    this space background move according to the movement of the camera.

     

    i want do that ! i want to see stars in background and i want to see them moving when i move my camera.

    (i think i can't be more precise)

  • An HDRI used as a dome (well, sphere here) should pan around as you rotate the camera.

    If you have ultrascatter or similar instances tool, then duplicate some various sized instances of small bright objects on a sphere with the sphere's visibility turned off.  Set the dome to black.  The small bright objects should look like a starry sky.  You can insert a few large spheres to be a sun or some planets.

    I used a similar technique in Carrara to create the attached spherical space background with a sun and two planets.  Ultimate destination for me is a toon render so you might want to use a different sun.  However, if it meets your needs, feel free to use the attached, or create your own.

    (EDIT: as Richard says, insert the attached in Daz's dome).

    Draft test of inserting the above space spherical render as the background dome and then rendering spaceships racing through asteroids.  You can see the blue planet and stars in the dome move as the camera moves.  Again, done in Carrara, but should work in Studio.

    Note - you can do the same thing without the sun or the planets if you just want distant stars.

     

    EDIT - may want to use PhilW's faux HDRI method for Studio.
