BTW "amen" may be eventually copyrighted by the Catholic Church unless another religion beats them to the patent office. Hmmm I wonder if I can take out a patent on "God".... well maybe for at least six days of the week.

I'd say Judaism has a well-documented prior claim.

Tru dat! Anyhoot most of our western laws are inherited from the Romans and they always settled disputes with a good crucifixion or at least a gladiatorial combat, maybe a few lions thrown in for good measure. Hmmm maybe a should read Daz terms more carefully just in case some of those conflict resolutions are still applicable.
The roots of modern copyright law can be traced back to a medieval king's ruling that "as the calf belongs to the cow, so the copy belongs to the book". The purpose of this ruling was to end a dispute between two saints which had escalated to the point of actual pitched battles.

    Isn't history fun?

It seems like the nefarious "They" are trying to place a legal "claim" on everything, watch out where you post your pictures, read those user terms, or a Hollywood copyright SWAT Team may kick down your door, claiming your pictures are their pictures.

This thread has exploded rapidly and I haven't read all the entries but I have patented the letter "a" so you all will be hearing from my lawyers. 8-Q

...hah, I but I patented the letter "e" (both lower and uppercase including in all forms such as italic bold and underlined) which is the most widely used vowel in the English language.

I think I'll copyright the word MOO!

Then I can sue all the Cows using it without permission.

Nah, Cow Pies make great weapons!

They can be thrown, placed as mines, used to generate poison gas, and they burn well enough to make MOO-Latov Cocktails.

I could take over Utah and force DAZ to Finally Release The Millennium Cow!!

The smart thing, Martin, that Adobe could have done when releasing the 'free' CS2 version, was to claim that each user should buy a t-shirt with "I love Adobe" when downloading the software. It a lot cheaper, and they'd auto-generate Adobe-fanbois...
