Is V4.2 just a slight upgrade? What's the difference, does anyone know?

V4.2 is just an upgrade from V4. I have never seen much difference between them.

They both use the same mesh as far as I'm aware. I believe V4.2 has adjusted morphs, if I'm correct, which addresses some of the issues the original suffered from.

I could be wrong, but wasn't it the EXP injection system that was added?

V4 was more like Aiko3, a base CR2 with the basic morphs and a separate CR2 if you bought the ++ morphs, but with the plans DAZ had for her that system had to change, so with V4.1 we got the EXP system and Aiko 4, we also got a new mesh as they added an eyebrow group and bone to V4.1, V4.2 was an upgrade to fix a couple of bugs in V4.1.

Beyond bug fixes, I think 4.2 included some changes needed for either the Muscle or Creature morphs, or both.

There's a brief history of Victoria on Wikipedia, including information on V4.0, V4.1, and V4.2: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victoria_(3D_figure)

Usually when you see the abbreviation "V4" it's referring to "Victoria 4.2" (the most recent update of Victoria 4), or else Victoria 4 in general. As far as I'm aware, any product that states that it is compatible with V4, V4.0, or V4.1 should work on V4.2 (the same isn't true in reverse: V4.2 products probably won't work on V4.0 or V4.1).

It comes and goes...I guess there's some disagreement on Wikipedia about whether it belongs there or not.* I think the same info exists at other sites, let me see...

Here we go...hope this one stays put: http://www.thefullwiki.org/Victoria_(3D_figure) <-copy and paste, don't click*</p>

    Relevant section on V4:

The 4th generation of the figure began in December 2006 with the release of version 4.0 which included a new body shape and added several technical improvements to the figure. However morph injection for this figure was not initially available. The mesh for Victoria 4.0 was developed using Luxology's modo.[1]
Version 4.1 was released in April 2007 and improved on the capability to load multiple sets of morphs into the character without causing conflicts.
Version 4.2 was released in February 2008 which added a set of built-in male morphs and further technical improvements.

That article didn't include info on V5:

Version 5 of Victoria came in the end of 2011. During the beta testing phases of DAZ Studio 4, there was released information briefly regarding the preparation of Victoria 5 as a part of Genesis. Daz claim 'Vicky' 5 has much more versatility due to the fact she can be anything (a male, a kid, even a gorilla).[5] Moreover, Genesis clothing will fit all genesis figures, not requiring a 'unimesh' morph. Finally, the mesh of Victoria 5 was updated and more smoother, with the use of SUBD, weight maps and optimisations nativelly to Daz Studio. These could let morphs and movements smoother, without glitches or bumps (not requiring 'morphing fix' add-ons at all, like arms fix, thighs fix and so on). Software like Poser can still load her with some plugins or exporting from Daz, but will lacks enhancements not supported in Poser, like SUBD.[6] So, Victoria 5 could only be used 'at most' with Daz Studio so far.

*Or maybe not... Copy and paste the link instead of clicking on it! Apparently that makes a difference....because of the parenthesis in the url?
