Best way to clear or reset the timeline

What is the quickest way to reset the timeline, to start creating a fresh animation?

I have a walking figure that I wish to completely reanimate, perhaps several times.

Before resetting the Total and FPS, do I just delete the keypoints?

Or is there a way to clear the timeline with...say...a single click?

  • Select All, then Edit>Object>Clear Animation sub-menu.

    Thanks!

I had some success using your directions, however I never located 'Animation sub-menu'.

When I reach '>object', it takes me to (3 options) >clear selected items, 'clear selected pose' and 'clear selected shape'.

(I'm using 4.9, so I'm curious about the 'sub-menu' option.)

    But that's already helped, some!

  • It should have the Clear Animation sub-menu (flyout menu) unde the Zero sub-menu.

    Hmm....

    I still don't see 'sub-menu'.

    I'm working on Windows 7.

If I can zero out Timeline for another attempt, but save the character and background/scene (without having to start over) I can keep working on a scene until I get it right, and make progress again.

I attached what comes up on my screen, maybe you can tell if I'm searching the right menu.

  • Your screenshots show sub-menus - a sub-menu is a menu that appears when you hover over an entry in the main menu, listing several commands.

(If I can add a chuckle- my fault)   Yes, I know what a sub-menu is.   I totaly misread your post, when I read: >Animation sub-menu', instead of 'Animation'.

Sorry, that mistake totaly confused me.

I did partially succeed in clearing the scene, but not (yet) by following your direction.  I will get on it.

Thank you, again, for your assistance!

There is a really simple trick you can do in Daz Studio.

    • Set total keyframe to 1
    • save it (perhaps give it another name)
    • Close Daz Studio
    • Then re-open Daz with the newly saved file.

BANG! all keyframes gone. Repose character ( s ) if needed by going to:

Edit > Figure > Zero > Zero Figure Pose

And you good to go again!

    Good luck!

I was still having problems with that issue.
