Question about product uninstallers

When you run an uninstaller for a product, does anyone know if it removes all instances of the item from your machine? or is it specific ones only? I ask because I am trying to get my runtimes in order and I just realized I had multiple instanced of V4 running because of importing runtimes from older computers.

It will remove only the files the original installer added on its last run added, from the locations to which it added them. Duplicates, previous installations and rearranged files will not be removed.
