Greetings fellow artists.
I come to you with a quick and hopefully easy question to answer: Is it possible to produce Alpha maps rendering with Daz Studio?
I come from Poser Pro and there is pretty much easy enough to click the option and it will save the alpha channel of what you have on screen. Further more with a simple render script you can actually select what you want the alpha of: I find that very useful for photoshop, so I can only select the character and not the background for example.
Any idea if this is doable and how?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, it's called "using canvases" in Iray. https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/62101/relighting-with-iray-canvases/p1
This explains it for lights, but you can easily experiment with the other canvas types to find the ones that suit your needs.
Thanks, I'll give this a look
You don't have to use canvases just to get an alpha channel. Be sure the is render dome, environment image or other type of background in the scene when rendering. Save as PNG or TIFF
Sorry for the ultimate year later reply :D
But the issue is that I need alpha channels only for certain figures on the picture, not all the figures, background and props.
That is what I'm after :(
