GOZ Plugin not working

Hello All:

Had a Zbrush update today and now GoZ is not working. I read the Help with GoZ Plugin (https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/207530263-Help-with-GoZ-Plugin). I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling. And nothing seems to find the Zbrush. Here is what I see:

Sorry, cannot launch ZBrush.

Cannot find path to ZBrush application.

I've spent the last hour trying to figure this out and am just giving up at this point and asking for help. Seems like this has just been a day of DAZ products not liking me.

Thanks,

J

  • So ZBrush is not working on a direct launch, or just not launching via GoZ?

Zbrush is working, just the GoZ plugin. Sorry for the confusion.

  • Did the update install to the same location? If it did, try clearing the C:\Users\Public\Pixologic\GoZProjects folder

  • Came back to it a few hours later. Now it's working. I have no idea what changed. Thanks for the help Richard.

@JasonSWrench When installing ZBrush, a lot of GoZ options are installed by default (Photoshop, etc) but nothing for DaZ. So if you installed the GoZ plugin for DAZ you'll still have an export to ZBrush option, but it won't work because the necessary GoZ files are gone from the folders of the newly updated/installed ZBrush.

SOLUTION for the GoZ bridge to work after an update or a new installation of ZBrush :

    • Use DAZ Install Manager to remove “Goz for DAZ Studio 4.12+ (Win 64-bit)”

    • Use DAZ Install Manager to install again “Goz for DAZ Studio 4.12+ (Win 64-bit)”

    • Doing so will re-create the missing folder C:\Users\Public\Pixologic\GoZApps\DAZStudio64 and its content, necessary for ZBrush to build a working bridge between both apps.

Right-click "GoZ for DAZ Studio 4.12+ (Win 64-bit)" and choose Re-Install Package(s) > GoZ for DAZ Studio 4.12+ (Win 64-bit) from the context menu to save yourself steps.
