Lighting and/or Atmosphere Threads?

Are there threads dedicated to Lighting only in IRAY and another for Lighting in 3Delight? I've not been able to find anything.
Is Daz Studio capable of creating Atmosphere itself or can that only be accomplished by purchasing content.

When using the Iray render engine, there is a default outdoor lighting set that loads that includes an infinite ground plane, then you can tweak it to your liking.
The settings for this are in your render options, and you can turn it (or parts of it) off and use only lights that you have placed in the scene.
When you mention atmosphere do you mean volumetric effects? Iray can do this, and you won't need any products to do it.

JamesJAB, Thanks... what I'm looking for is information about setting up and changing lights and light rigs in any 3D program. Recently I started the Scene Lighting and Atmosphere - Come One & All thread and collecting links that might help everyone.
Jim, Thanks for the link I'll check it out... Sickleyeild Rocks! I'm in search mode for anything that might translate to Carrara and other software that come with volumetric effects.
Jim, I have Luxus for Carrara as well as Luxrender but have not used either yet... only Carrara's native render engines...Photorealistic mostly. Thanks for pointing out that Iray and Luxrender have similar principals... also mentioning real/studio lighting.

The reason for my absence....well last wed I fell and broke my hip (trash can - 1, Me - 0) and am currently in rehab learning to walk again. ???????? Patiently waiting until I can return!
You fell near the bins?!
Take a good look around just to check you're really in rehab. and not recycling.
Grabbed what I thought was an empty recycle container only to find it still full... whipped me around and onto ground... no fun at all... Feel recycled... just got home today... now home therapy begins... every day gets better.
