Im having a problem with my Popobawa textures, they come up greyish instead of bright like the previews.

Here's the render and promo preview.

How is your scene lit? is that a render? What are your render settings?

My guess is that it may also involve the specular and ambience. How does it look when they're pink and lit?

shouldn't that have been sorted by the creator?

I believe a daz product shouldn't require much tinkering to use or to achieve some of the promo look or looks.

It's probably pink, but the ambience setting is down.

Personally speaking on my own end, whenever I buy new items, i tend to desatuate/brighten in photoshop to get the textures as white as possible for diffuse (without losing detail).

Not sure why most sellers don't do that. If you have nearly white textures you can change the diffuse and create characters of almost any color. :)

I might just do that :) it's just a shame it doesn't look the same straight out of the box, sort of thing.

It does look the same straight out of the box assuming you are using enough lighting (we can't control what lighting you use on our products so it's not really under our control how your renders come out). every texture is heavily dependent on lighting, so a great texture can look bad in not so great lighting. What I did is use plenty of lighting I used one Uberenvironment for overall fill at a fairly low intensity, a strong main spot and a fill spot both of which have shadows turned on for lighting direction (Varied based on where I want the light coming from) and two specular only lights to punch up the highlights. I also added one colored spot to the background scene to throw that purpleish pink mood lighting, but that doesn't effect the figure since its pointed away from the figure from below and behind it. I didn't use any pink lights that I recall in that image other than that background light but it is key to put enough lighting in.

thank you about the information on the lights, as you guessed I am never sure about lights. I will however use the ones you did and I am sorry if I offended you, I do love your Popobawa's other assets a lot :-) and it is well worth the money :-) as is all your products I own :-)

No you didn't offend me, I just didn't want the wrong info to go out, that you might have to do something to the textures to get the results I did in the promos (IMO that should never be required, not that I don't encourage people to do some experiments to get the results they want, I tend to adjust the textures of content I buy all the time to get different results than are possible right out of the package. but I don't want people to feel they have to do so to match the results in the promos). I understand the frustration people have trying to get the same results as the promo renders and wanted to make it clear that the results are repeatable without mucking with any of the content, I would provide the lighting I used, unfortunately it is a light set that was done by someone else and I am guessing it will eventually be offered in a commercial product .
