Reboot of all content

I want to try again to make all of my content available for use.

When I started using this computer and imported DAZ3D I had to put the content on an external hard drive because the native drive was too small to fit all of the projects I am doing. That caused me a lot of issues so I have upgraded my iMAC native hard drive, running 10.11 with 32 gigs of ram, to two terrabytes which should be more than plenty.

I want to reload everything I have purchased on to the new hard drive. Past efforts seem to load some, then fail before the operation has completed. I figure I must be doing something wrong.

I want to do a fresh reload of all of the content, rather than rehash from memory what did or di not happen. Can someone who has a lot of experience doing this on a Mac help me make this work?

I have all my content on my D Drive and all works just fine. Just make sure that you have the right path to your content so that Studio can find it.

Thanks but the responses here are about PC's. I am on a Mac. Also I am looking for the "sequence" of reinstalling all my content on the new drive. But thanks for your reply.

    I don't have a D drive. I am on a Mac.

I am trying to set this up so everything points to where it should be.

Simple way...fire up the Install Manager and redownload/install everything from scratch.

If you have your stuff installed, why not just point Daz Studio (Content Manager) and DIM to the content that has been moved to the new drive.  I have a mac and the only part that lives on my primary drive is the program....

There is no problem running on an external drive (unless it goes to sleep and comes back which is a different story, but that causes DS to break)
But to install you content, I recommend that you as mjc1016 said, redownload it all with DIM (I've done that a few times when I've changed disks and such). * IMPORTANT * - Be sure that you reset your contant manager database before installing, and that you inside DIM tell DIM where to install. If you want top change the default location, create a new installation location, select that, delete the old one. Then install DS, then the content.

You can move the content but then you need to move the DIM receipts and reset the database and reimport metadata to get things right but it still sometimes fails.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks all.

I have redownloaded everything and I think I may have found at least part of the problem. I have been searching for the content with the search function. Apparently some of the content is not friendly with the search function. For example I can navigate to content, put the name I see in the search function and it does not show up. Seems to work better in the Smart content for some reason.

But I am still getting prompt that parts of the content is missing.

Did you reset the Content Manager Database Prior to reinstalling?

I believe so. It seems to have reset itself to download over 1200 items. An while part of the content is ther some seems not to be available or something.
