Other Products Like Autofit

While I really like the Autofit function in Studio 4.5, it has limited uses due to the fact that it wipes out any included clothing morph poses that were included in the product prior to converting for use with Genesis.

Is there a similar commercial product (like Autofit), that converts clothing for use with Genesis without removing the product morphs?

As Far As I know they are all there. Try setting Daz to display hidden. In some cases they become hidden or Greyed out but can still be dialled. Same thing with hair. The morphs will appear if you click on the neck group of the hair in the scene tab. They will then be listed under parameters.

Convert the clothing to weight mapped and then use the Morph transfer utility to preserve the morphs.

Select clothing, open tab menu in the scene tab(top right corner of the pane), convert to weight map, then choose assets(same menu), morph transfer utility.

All the options for saving morphs will be available in the Morph Transfer Utility.

Note: when you load the clothing, ignore autofit prior to using this method.

Both autofit and the Transfer Utility have been preserving the morphs since at least the first build of 4.5, although you do have to wonder why they bothered, with the mesh being a different shape it means none of the morphs give you anything close to what they did with the original.

Most of them do a fine job. EG on swimwear where movement morphs work perfectly fine. Combine that with smoothing and you get can get very good results. It takes some playing around with, but good results can be achieved.

Most of the morphs work fine for me...especially if you apply the smoothing modifier carefully and adjust the settings to suit the item and pose.

Simply changing the smoothing type to Generic can often fix small issues and increasing the weight slighty will also help. As always you need to play with the smoothing and collision iterations and adjust them to suit.

Many items don't even need a smoothing modifier added until you start to change the shape drastically.

Dresses and skirts will need it added to smooth out mesh distortion on the skirt unless like me you prefer to create a morph to fix the mesh distortion on the skirt.

Thanks for the information. i just recently upgraded to 4.5, and I was not aware that they had corrected the autofit issue with not bringing the item morphs over.
