How do I restrict a morph to just the head of a character?

I have created a simple Genesis head morph by sending a zeroed base Genesis figure to Hexagon and modifying the head. I now want to apply the head morph to different Genesis based characters that have differing body shapes. I have imported my head morph into Daz 4.5 as a partial morph using Morph Loader Pro settings 'reverse deformations' = Yes and 'overwrite existing' = 'make unique'.

The problem is that when the head morph is applied (successfully) to a character the basic body shape is also reapplied to the character. How do I ensure that body shape is not reapplied? Clearly I am missing out a basic process.

Grateful for any assistance.

A morph applies only changes, as new positions of the vertices defining the mesh. So if the body is not changed the morph will not do anything to the body. A morph can't undo the effects of other morphs, so if that is happening when you apply yours then some other factor must be in play. What do you get if you apply your morph to an otherwise zeoed Genesis?

    Perhaps an example would help.

    - I create a head morph using the Genesis base model ie the head has been modified but the body has not.
    - I then apply this head morph to a character that has already been modified from the original Genesis base eg the waist has been narrowed.
    - The character changes to include the head morph modification, which is fine, but (understandably) it also takes on the form of the body of the original Genesis base model eg the waist now reverts to the basic original width, which I do not want.

What I am trying to do is produce a partial morph that will modify just the head of any previously produced characters without impacting on other body elements.

When you only changed the head, the morph should not affect the body in any way. A morph only stores changes, not the entire figure.
You send a zeroed base genesis to hex, so no problem there. When you send it back, was the genesis figure in Studio still the same zeroed genesis figure ?
The "use reverse deformation" should be checked if you made the morph on a different shape than base genesis. Maybe that's how the error got in your morph ? Try sending the morph to Studio with "reverse deformation" unchecked.

    Solved!

Many thanks Richard and BlackFeather for your suggestions, but I am sure that I was picking up the imported but not saved version of the morph file which would explain the problem.
